Hi all I am wondering if you all know of any healing foods or remedies for menstrual cramps. I just went raw 2 weeks ago and just started my period. I have always gotten horrible cramps every month since I hit puberty. I always have to take ibuprofen for the pain and don't want to do that anymore. I know as I continue eating living foods that the cramps should lessen. Are there any foods in particular that are known for relieving menstrual cramps? Herbs would be a second choice for me, after food or beverage first.

Whole Foods and health food stores should have a tea by Yogi brand called "Woman's Moon Cycle" tea. It's pretty good.
As for foods...chocolate :) Magnesium, definitely. If you can buy magnesium tablets, do so! It will cut cramping and headaches down. I usually take double the dose it says on the bottle the first day of my period.
Bananas should help...um...
Also...having an orgasm helps cramps a lot  hehe

In Alissa's book, she states that spinach is good for heavy menustral flow and that raspberries are good for cramps.
She has a recipe in the drinks section for cramps. Page 543 (I don't know if I am allowed to post it?)
It has spinach, ginger, pineapple and fennel bulb in it. (juiced)
