Is tofu raw? I've never seen tofu in any raw recipes, so I'm assuming it's not. I just remember from my vegetarian years that tofu and soy products were really pushed and are said to be very healthful. Some of my extended family members are trying to do more raw as well now (yea!), but use a lot of tofu and soy products in their vegan meals. I just don't know much about either one.

I don't think tofu and soy should be called food because they do not benefit the body in any ways. Read more about the tofu and you will understand that tofu is not very healthy, neither is soy.
Good luck on your raw path

I concur with rawfoodmommy.

At the beginning of the year, I was eating mass amounts of tofu. I noticed that my periods started to change...and not for the good. They would be SO heavy that I would have to leave work early to change my pants, etc. I cut out the tofu and the periods are back to normal.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I would like to pass it on. One family member of mine in particular eats mostly vegetarian and eats and feeds her kids lots of soy based products. I would like to share with her some things about it if it is really that detrimental. I know this board is not meant for discussing things that aren't raw, so if anyone knows of a good source to refer her to, feel free to email me. Thanks again!

I once ate soy a couple of weeks ago...and was sick for the entire day:eek:. I sure learned my lesson: leave it alone, it's not good for you.
