Where do you find dried pineapple without added sugar?

I would love to make these, but everytime I see dehydrated pineapples they always have added sugar, which doesn't make any sense to me since pineapple is so sweet anyways.

Help please!

Do you have a dehydrator? Could you dry them yourself?

I was able to find some at my local food co-op...however, before that occurred, as mel suggested, I made/dried my own.

I dehydrate my own. They taste better than any that I have ever purchased - even the ones with nothing added. When I use a pineapple to make a smoothie, I usually dehydrate half of it.

I get mine from Alex the Raw Guru ( www.rawguru.com ).

Here's the link to the pineapple:

He sells lots of raw vegan foods and he offers free shipping on any purchase of $100.00 or more. Good luck!

Trader Joes has unsweetened, unsulfered dried pineapple rings. They are soooo good

That's funny, I have just gotten into making these.
I made my first batch with pineapple I dehydrated myself, and the second batch, which is in the dehydrator right now, I made with fresh pineapple, which is why I am dehydrating the donuts as I write...
I can't wait to see how they turn out.

I never thought about dehydrating my own pineapple! What a great idea!

Sometimes they have huge sales on pineapples that are really ripe.
I think I'll buy up a bunch next time and dehydrate... YAY!

Thanks everyone for your help!

I'll have to get two pineapples if I want to dehydrate some. Between all the children and me we polish off a pineapple in no time flat!

Thanks again.
