Hi everyone-I am kinda new to the raw lifestyle. I am trying to be at least 50% raw right now and increasing slowly. I still enjoy coffee in the morning, and I really love the flavor of cream in my coffee. I have used homemade raw almond milk and it really doesnt do it for me. Does anyone have a great suggestion or recipe for a raw substitute half and half? Thanks!

maybe something heavier like cashew cream or coconut cream?

I had switched to black years ago prior to kicking it out of my daily intake. Can't think what would sub for milk if you've already tried the ground nuts.
Good luck in your diet and your transition to raw. Best gift you could possibly give yourself.

This is probably sweeter than plain cream or half and half, but it's still delicious in coffee.
Measure one half cup of raw cashews, almonds or a mix of the above and put them in a bowl of water to soak overnight (use good water like distilled water or spring water to soak them in, the same as you would drink). If you use macadamias don't soak them.
The next morning, drain and rinse the soaked nuts. Put them in the blender with a vanilla bean, a tablespoon of honey, two tablespoons of maca powder and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Add just enough water to blend it. You will have something very thick and creamy. It may not look like it has the texture of half and half but if you stir it into your coffee it's really good.
You can make this without the maca powder if you don't have it. You could also use vanilla extract instead of the vanilla bean.
Good luck with raw foods! I hope that soon you can get off caffeine as you will have more energy from eating raw foods.
