New here. I'm an almost 29 year old SAHM to 3 kids (ages 4, 2 and 2 months). I'm happily married to my awesome hubby! We live in AZ, but dream of moving to the Pacific Northwest soon.
I lost 95 lbs before I became pregnant with my last child eating a mostly vegetarian diet (would eat raw milk and raw cheese from a local farm). I've of course gained weight due to my pregnancy, so I am on another journey to become as healthy as possible and lose weight in the process. (I'm blogging about it at www.theskinnyonjanuary.com).
My husband and I have looked into a raw diet before, but I think we were intimidated by all the appliances, different ways of making food and how to feed our children. I do have a Vitamix though and I LOVE it!:D
I found Alissa's website while googling organic coconut oil! So glad I did though. We'd love to go more raw (and maybe even all raw with the right support!).
Thanks!
January

Hi!
I'm in Arizona and moving up to Portland next year! I'm originally from Washington. What part of the PNW do you want to go to?
I'm finding preparing raw food to be easier a lot of the time. I think sometimes it's more the mental block than anything else.

We were thinking Seattle, but now we are leaning towards Portland! How funny. Where in AZ are you?
Right now we are maybe 75% raw. As we go more raw, I'll have to learn how to prepare for raw foods. I want to take it one step at a time so I don't get overwhelmed!

That's funny because I was in Seattle before I moved down to Arizona. I'm in Yuma and I work in San Luis, Arizona. Where are you?
There are tons of recipes online and lots of good books that have pretty simple recipes. I think this is like anything else, once you get over the initial learning curve, things get easier.

Thank you! I checked out your blog and you are awesome! What an inspiration! I have been thinking about going raw all weekend and I am moving in that direction, but don't feel ready/prepared to go 100%. I think I get overwhelmed.

Before you make any decissions you have to read Alissa's book. It's great and answers all your questions about going raw. (By the way the DVD is great also- it really is very helpful to see how easy raw can be) Definately read Alissa's book!!!! Good luck!!
