I have recently developed a strange problem since beginning green smoothies. A little background. I just turned 50 and I am post-menopausal. I have noticed over the last few days that my deodorant is just not working:( A few years ago when I was in menopause I had to switch to using those Crystal deodorant sticks because "regular" deodorants no longer worked. The Crystal was like a miracle - no more problems in that area! Until....I noticed earlier this week that about mid-day I am not smelling so fresh in the underarm area and I have taken to carrying a Crystal deodorant stick with me and freshening up in the middle of the day and applying more. The only thing that has changed over the last few weeks is that I have been drinking green smoothies twice a day! I feel great. I have been losing weight and I've noticed other positive changes. Has anyone else experienced this BO problem after adopting this lifestyle. I don't want to have to carry deodorant around with me for the rest of my life!:o

It will pass. It's part of your cleansing. Keep carrying the crystal and drink plenty of water. And CONGRADS on the GS's - way to go!

I had also wondered about this, but figured it was level out at some point. Thanks for the info!

A few months and 60 plus pounds down, i don't have it anymore. I may have gas.......lol......but none of that smell.
I wasn't particularly smelly before but i don't use deodorant anymore. If I want to smell a certain way, I will add perfume.

i actually had a different experience- i all of a sudden stopped needing deodorants! so weird, yet so great! If i eat something cooked or just unraw- i will need one in approximately 2-3 hours  it's like bad gasoline for a car...just doesn't work well

Chew on mint leaves, parsley and/or celery. Or add them to your smoothies and enjoy. ;) They will be refreshing to your system and help with any odor coming from your lymph nodes as you detox.

Hello goingtoRAW. Exactly the same thing has been happening to me! I was a bit worried because I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. Some say they don't even use deo anymore. But if its from the cleansing - then that makes sense. I am also off to the store to find a new deo. Crystal - what is that? Where would I find it? Thank you muchly!

islesgirl, it's called "Crystal Body Deodorant Stick". You should be able to find them at any Walgreen's, GNC, many health food stores and maybe Whole Foods. They cost about $5.99. It does cost more than "regular" dedorant but (and I am not exagerating), I have bought them and had one stick last for over a year!
You activate it by moistening the top and just apply - that's it! And...you should be protected for up to 24 hours.;)

I've been using the crystal for years. I prefer it over any deodorant. It does not however stop you from perspiration, so you will still be sweaty. They do last a year or longer .... and you can use it for stinky feet too!

slange001 you are so right. The crystal does not stop perspiration - but it goes prevent any odor. We want to sweat anyway to get rid of the toxins!:o

First of all, I would carefully investigate the source of those crystals. They say they are natural but I believe they are a "natural" aluminum product.
The other thing is that I have also found I have much less BO since I started with green smoothies. I do use a lot of deoderizing parsley and cilantro in my smoothies. I don't use regular commercial deoderants anymore. I found a couple of new things - a slice of lemon with the skin on is good. But what I mostly use is a bit of that white liquid Milk of Magnesia, a well-known antacid/mild laxative made with Sodium Hyperchlorite solution. Mine is the mint flavored one which feels and smells fresh. It is really good. Back in the old days when I produced a lot more perspiration and odor, it might not have been so effective-I don't know. But it sure works now.
