What does everyone do about raisins? I'm guessing that the ones you can find in the store, even when they're organic, have been dried at temperatures too high to be raw. I've been dehydrating my own, but it takes at least a week per batch, and that's a long time (although they are delicious). Also, has anyone tried dehydrating cranberries? I used to love craisins, and wondered if they turn out as sweet when they're raw?

I get my raisins from http://rawfromthefarm.com/default.aspx
Haven't dehydrated crans yet...

Craisins are infused with sugar before they are dried. You'd do well to see how you feel about them raw before you dehydrate them without sweetening. They can be a might tart:)

Maybe you could coat the cranberries in agave or honey before you dehydrate them?
As for myself, I still eat supermarket organic raisins from time to time as I don't have a dehydrator . . . and even though I'm 100% raw otherwise, they don't bother me.

I read the package on my organic rasians and they claim that they are sun dried. As for sugar they do not list any. I buy SunMaid organic at the store.

Really? I also buy sunmaid organic and I never noticed that they said sun dried on the package! Yay! So they are raw after all! I'm so happy. I don't react to them like I do to store-bought dried apricots, so it's like my body knew they are raw even though my mind didn't. Cool.
