In Alissa's book she mentions most Italian Restaurants are great when asked to prepare a raw meal. On Saturday we had our staff Christmas Dinner at ll Chianti Restaurant in NE Calgary, a very nice Italian Restaurant. They prepared a special RAW meal for me. The presentation was beautiful. . . the attention to detail exceptional. As the other 25 people were served the different stages of the meal mine was smoothly served in a way that made me fit in but still feel special. I was very very impressed with the service and the food. It was extremely nice and contacting the restaurant before hand worked great!

Fabulous!! I'll keep that in mind for when my hubby and I want to have a special night out:) I'm glad you had such a lovely luncheon!

The appetizer was a beautifully arranged plate containing pear slices, lemon slice, pomegrante sprinkled around the edges, kiwi, and two types of melon. When everyone else received their salads I received a boat shaped tray with tomato/cuke slices alternated with a few springs of green onion. The main course was divided on the plate into two sections. One section was shaved fennel with onion drizzled with olive oil. The other section was an arrangment of red pepper, cuke, mushroom, zuchinni, onion, topped with a thin curly carrot slice and some dill. To finish the meal off they had a Margarita glass of raspberries, strawberries and kiwi that was beautifully presented. To drink I had cranberry juice and water throughout the evening. Each dish was very decorative. Afterwards I spoke with the young chef who was in charge of my meal and he was very keen to learn more. They did an excellent job.
