Has anyone made Alissa/s pecan pie receipe from her book? I made it today. The directions said to blend the crust until smooth. I did but I think it was a bit too smooth. Could this be from soaking the dates too long? Also, the filling is thick but not thick enough to keep it's form. Could this also be from the dates being soaked too long? They were soaked overnight, not intentionally,but just didn't have tme until this AM to make the pie. It didn't exactly taste like pecan pie, but it's not bad enough to throw out.

Since we are on the subject of pies. Has anyone ever used acorn squash for the pumpkin pie? Do you think it would change the taste or consistency at all?
