Okay! I soaked my flax so I could get some flax crackers made and ready for the dehydrator this morning, before I go to bed. I tried to drain off the water, and my flax looks like it is floating in... excuse me, but it looks like clear pond slime. I have never used flax before, so maybe I just don't know what I'm doing, but does flax usually have this slimy stuff?
Help, save my flax.

YES!!! Keep it, it's perfect.....this is what holds your crackers together.....
Add whatever you like...I like to add powders, because they mix in well...like ginger, garlic, sea salt, and I also love to put a heavy sprinkling of nutritional yeast and italian seasoning on top of them before they go into the dehydrator!!!
YAY FOR YOU, YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY TO GREAT CRACKERS!!

That's what holds crackers, cookies, etc. together. It does what egg slime use to do.

:p HeHe.
I woke up this afternoon to the wonderful aroma of flax crackers dehydrating in my dehydrator. They look like they will be real crispy. I can hardly wait to try them, when they are done.

Barbie2..did you grind the soaked/slimy flaxseeds before using or did you use the whole seed intact?
Thanks!

Smileen, I used the flax seed whole, I didn't grind it. They are really yummy and crisp. Taste wonderful! I plan to make some more with different spices, maybe even a sweet one, and add cinnamon to them.

It does what egg slime use to do.
Revvell, this is just too funny! I never thought of it that way, but you are so right!!!
