I'm allergic to avocados. Is there a good "replacement" or "alternative" with a similar texture which can be used in raw recipes?

Off the top of my head I cannot think of anything. How about nuts? I cannot think of another veggie with the same consistency of avos. It's a pity you are allergic to them...they are sooooo good...

Not really, unfortunately. But you could blend nuts to a very thick cream, depending on the recipe, or just throw them into the blender with the other ingredients and let it cream when it releases its oils. Pistachios would be great, but, depending on the recipe and how much would be needed, you'd get the pistachio flavor.

In some cases, coconut meat might work. Otherwise make a nut creme.

Green Peas are a replacement for Avocados. You just blend them up and add the tomatoes, onions or whatever else you make your dip with. Restaraunts use this sometimes and it is used with Avocados to make it go further.

I know... I am hoping that my food allergies will heal in time. In a while I'll try adding the foods back little by little. :) Avocados are the best.

Indeed they would! :) Good idea.

That will be great in desserts! :)

Thanks for the excellent tip! :) Same texture and colour. Great for dips and other none-sweet dishes.
