I think this recipe was by RAWCUTTER - but I'm not sure but I did find it here on RFT. I really wish I could find the link because there are some AMAZING photos of this dish... and believe me -- it is do DELICIOUS! IT WILL RAWK YOUR WORLD!!

OKAY - FOUND A PHOTO!

SPICY TACOS
Corn Tortillas
12 ears corn
1/4 yellow pepper
1/4 orange pepper
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup soaked sun dried tomatoes
2 T sprouted flax seeds
2 t cumin
2 t sea salt
1/4 cup chopped parsley

Cut the corn off the cob. Put all the kernels in a bowl of water and let sit for about 10 minutes and drain. Put all the ingredients in the food proccessor and process for about 2 minutes. You want it a little soupy. Spread the mixture onto a non-stick sheet and dehydrate for about an hour or two. Flip it onto the screen and dehydrate overnight. It should come out nice and crispy. If you find holes in the chip after the flip, you can fill them in with some more batter. This recipe made 3 sheets (11x11).

(fyi - I've also used frozen /thawed corn for the corn tortilla recipe and it workd fine!)

Top tortilla with smashed avocado. Layer 3 is the walnut meat.

walnut meat
1.5 cups walnuts
2 cloves garlic
2 Tbs cumin
1 Tbs chili powder
tabasco
sea salt
lime juice

proccess walnuts, garlic, cumin and chili powder in FP until desired consistency. add tabasco, sea saalt and lime to taste and pulse a few times to incorporate.
over the taco meat dollop your sour cream

RAW SOUR CREME:
1 cup cashews covered with water and soaked for 2 hours
process in FP with juice of 1 lemon until smooth

top with tomato lettuce onions and hot sauce

edit... forgot to add... this also makes a great taco salad! Make a HUGE SALAD! add a dollop of the taco meat - top with all the fixins for a taco salad -- stick some raw tortilla chips by the edge of the bowl and wa~laaa - taco salad! I use salsa for the dressing.....

this is also great just wrapped up in a lettuce leaf too!

enjoy!

Barbie - this a staple for when I've got social engagments. I actually take little mini tacos with me on a beautiful plate - I always take extra so others can try it... but -- seriously -- my SAD carnivore friends actually REQUEST this if they are coming over for dinner... they looove it!

I even took it to a hula class potluck and everyone went nuts over it ... it really is amazing! I wish I could post the pics though... cuz you would see how amazing this dish really looks!!

rawk on - enjoy it!!

ahhh.....Starfire, you know how I love these. I can't wait to try a mullerized version of this recipe.

I have hit up PFNJ twice now to satisfy my craving for these delectable raw treats.

I need an excalibur pronto!!

How many cups of frozen corn to substitute for 12 ears of corn?

I usually end up using 3 to 4 bags of frozen. Cuz that's all that fits in my food processor! I kinda figure 1 bag is about 3 ears of corn (roughly!) ;)

and Mueller and doc... you gotta try makin this yourself... cuz nuthin tastes better than when you tweak a recipe to your personal Mullerized taste buds!!

its so easy to make -- and it literally keeps for days (if you don't eat it all up right away!)

here's a little hint for ya... when making this recipe -- if you want to make the corn tortillas a little more 'tortilla like'.... add in a bit of ground psyllium this will 'fluff' the mixture while making it very 'durable' bendable and doesn't affect the flavor --- okay - I just gave away one of my secrets - so shhhh...dont' tell!

when you put them on the teflex sheets (Mullmania man - you OF ALL PEOPLE gotta get a dehydrator!) just make them into round tortilla shapes and ... wa~laaaa you got raw tortillas... :D

okay - remember now - don't give a way my secret!!

Sounds awesome - how many tacos does it make? 12 ears of corn sounds like a lot! Anyone know how much that is in cups?

I made the meat and sour cream last night and served it in lettuce "shells". It was AWESOME. My dc LOVED the meat and even my very very very SAD dh stole some when I wasn't looking. LOL! Then he took more to put on his SAD nachos. I'm so psyched that this was such a huge hit! Thanks starfire!

If/when I am ever able to afford a dehydrator, I'm making this one:) In the meantime, I still love my collards as "shells"!

StarFire: do you make your own tabasco (if you do, please share the recipe!) and if you buy it, which raw brand do you use?

StarFire: do you make your own tabasco (if you do, please share the recipe!) and if you buy it, which raw brand do you use?

I'll get the recipe for you - dh makes a version of tabasco - and I have used store bought tabasco on occassion. Here in Hawaii we have something you can find in just about any restaurant - we call it chili water... it's simply these very tiny VERY HOT chili's, purified water, and some garlic... shake it up and pour it on... (personally -- tooo hot for me!) .... but yes - dh has a recipe and I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I shared it!

so - I'll get back with you on that!

I just wanted to say that ever since I have found this recipe and have been using it this has become the most popular dinner in my house! I'm about to go put a batch of the tortillas in the dehydrator as we speak! Thanks for posting this!

Thanks for posting his version. I want to be able to offer different versions to friends. It sounds similiar to the one below (salsa walnut meat). I haven't eaten any other taco recipe since finding the one below. I loved it (and you can take or leave the n. yeast) I didn't "taste" walnuts and I was so hungry that I didn't soak the walnuts and it was still really really yummy. Thanks for posting the shells...might venture out on that next month for my sister's birthday.

I am so glad I found this thread. Mainly for the tip on using frozen corn for the tortillas. We love chips and salsa. I was just watching Alissa's dvd and she made tortillas- and the first thing I thought was could I use frozen corn..
can't wait to try it.
