I have an aloe vera plant at home, and I often put it on my skin to help heal/moisturize it. I've heard of some people drinking aloe vera juice, but I don't own a juicer. Would it be okay if I put whole aloe vera leaves in my blender, or can I only drink the juice?

I think you'd be okay using the pulp, but the skin may be a bit tough. I'd peel it first, and only use a little at first to see how you like it and to test to see if you're okay allergenically if you've never consumed it before.

Thanks Amberstorm, I will try a little of the pulp tomorrow.

I do not peel if I am juicing it but if I am adding it to a smoothie I cut off a piece and I split it lengthwise. Then I lay it flat on a plate and use a spoon to scrape the pulp away from the skin.
