Spices are spices, right? For that reason I have used more convential spices, I only had about 5 organic (lemon pepper, cayenne, garlic powder, tumeric and an italian blend) the ones my local hfs carried (where I am able to get a good deal). I have not gone out of my way seeing as I have an abundance of spices, and not to mention, they are quite pricey. My hfs has dramatically increased their inventory. I bought EVERY type, except the ones with anti-caking agents.
I encourage everyone to try to find all/as many as possible of your spices in organic form.
case in point: the differences are incredible- ginger really drove the point home- i have regular ginger powder the color is brownish orange and smells nothing like ginger, which i thought was just how it had to be. The organic ginger is golden and smells just like fresh ginger! the basil, rosemary, cumin etc.; all are pristine
I did not think it would be so drastic! Who knows what they did to that poor ginger, and all the others to make them so unrecognizable
