I have decided to do a juice fast... at least five days but i will go as long as i can. It would begin monday may 23rd. I really need some support, anyone interested? if not, maybe someone could be a support buddy? send me messages when you can, and basically kick me in the bum so i don't quit early....

I'm on day 8 as of May 23rd, but I could still use a buddy! I'm trying to go 30 days.

I started with the Master Cleanse and only made it about 4 days before I had to start taking some veggie broth and veggie juice. I guess my body wasn't ready for anything THAT cleansing :)

But I'm sticking strong to juice other than that and would love to have a partner! The hardest part was the first three days. Depending on how much addiction you have (sugar, caffiene, salt, etc.), the withdrawls can be wicked tough. Expect headaches, hunger, fatigue, and crankiness. Try to keep yourself in a non-stressed environment as much as possible.

But HONEST, it does get better and you really will start to feel great by the end of day 3. You won't be hungry any more. Don't get me wrong -- you'll WANT a big juicy cheeseburger, but you won't be HUNGRY for it :)

Best of Luck and enjoy it -- you're doing something amazing for yourself!!!!

I am, in no uncertain terms, no expert in this field myself :)

My understanding is that you should listen, really listen, to your body. When it needs juice, feed it. I don't think there is a limit. Most people drink between 4-8 glasses of fresh juice a day, it seems like from the threads around here. I've read that some people treat it like meals. They will do fruit juice for breakfast, veggie juice for lunch, and fruit juice for dinner. My suggestion would be to research the threads on this site and see what you come up with. But at least for the first three days, I would certainly drink whenever you need to quell the hunger pangs.

Right now, I'm doing the lemonade thing for breakfast (lemon, cayenne pepper, maple syrup), veggie broth or juice for lunch, and fruit juice for dinner. If I get really hungry, I will do another lemonade "snack" in the afternoon or a little more veggie broth. It's not really a plan that I've read anywhere, but it seems to be working really well for me. The important thing is that I am noticing that my body is responding well (energy starting finally to increase, mental clarity slightly increasing).

I really need to do some of the more intense cleansing -- coffee enema, salt water flush, laxative tea -- but I'm afraid to since with kids and all, my schedule never keeps me right near a toilet for very long and, as I understand it, that is a must when doing things like that!!!!! hee hee hee

Stay strong -- today shouldn't be too bad because it's new and exciting. Tonight might be a little more difficult. Try to keep super busy -- that keeps you distracted :)

I did a water fast once for 3 days, (I'm hypoglycemic, so this is NOT a good thing to do)

and I learned several things about fasting.

Drink as much as you want whenever you want

Don't limit yourself in any way

REST, REST AND MORE REST

this is NOT a marathon, this is a cleansing and clearing out so you will need rest

meditate, and be still, and allow all the stuff, that you stuffed down with food to come up and out, allow this to take place, don't force it.

be calm and relaxed

take care of yourself

go inward and upward with your thoughts

allow spirit to be part of you usually a deeper understanding of yourself will accompany a fast.

Enjoy the process

be super creative with your juices, or be super simply, only YOU will know what works for you

This is a perfect time to read a long involved book, or to call old friends that you haven't spoken to in years, to just sit back and enjoy all of life.

Take long leisurly walks in the woods, gardens, or go to a conservatory or park if there is one in your town.

Be still

I know this may be difficult to do with kids, and this is how they do it at fasting retreats, it's all about being still, going inward, and being alone with your thoughts.

good luck on your fast

thank you haz and rawpriestess for your advice!!

I am starting tomorrow , i have prepared myself, and even though i have to work through the whole thing and go to school too, i think because i will be so busy, it will be easier to keep myself on track, and if i get tired, i will just go to bed early, and just take it easy in general. i have been moved up to the older childrens group in the daycare, and they are much lower maintenance so, i think it will be okay, and i will keep on the fast as long as i can ( up to 30 days) ...

i will update in my journal tomorrow, keep the encouragement coming guys!!

haz... keep going strong, you are showing me that it is possible. thankyou!!

Now we're cooking -- well, not really, huh? hee hee :)

Thanks for the advice RawPriestess -- I get so caught up in the idea of the juicing that I forget to take the quiet, still time for myself. Hmmmm, I'm thinking a massage would be the perfect way to remind myself ....

Kelly, you're working with kids in a daycare???? Bless you girl! I'd be addicted to everything that was out there -- caffiene, sugar, heroin, and stronger. I can barely handle my own two on a regular basis and it's been especially testy during my juicing. It takes an awesome person to work with kids all day -- you have my admiration and respect! But I think anyone who can deal with runny noses, whines, and saying "no" eight thousand times a day can do a juicing without a hitch :)

Vegan, if you're feeling yucky, then joining us is the way to go!!!! Although, I will admit that the weight loss is not happening as quickly as I would have hoped. I've only lost eight pounds in now nine days. I know that's quick but considering the fact that I haven't had anything other then the lemonade drink and juice and broth for nine days, I guess I thought it would be higher. Oh well, we'll all hang in there together and keep our eyes on the prize, which isn't really weight loss but clean, healthy, detoxed bodies !!!!!

We are amazing!!!!!

kellymarie
05-24-2005, 09:05 AM
yes, we are amazing!!!

i was juicing fruit for like 10 minutes this morning ... enough for most of the day, if i run out i will go to the health food place that juices....

i gotta go but i will catch up with you guys at my lunch break!!!

Just posting to give you all support! I recently juice fasted for 10 days. It was my first time fasting and I loved it. My psoriasis actually got smoother and I lost 10 lbs. I just have to wonder how much more my psoriasis will clear up if I go for 30 days of juice fasting. Maybe I will start again soon when I don't have so much school work on my hands.

Hi Everyone! I started by 2 week juice fast yesterday morning. I had a juice for breakfast and have been drinking some water today. Are you fasting???? I need some motivation to keep it up because there is food around me all the time at home! I took a bath lastnight which helped me keep my mind off food, and watched a movie too that made me sleepy. Anyways, write back and tell me how everything is going. We can help eachother :)

Cool -- we're growing !!!

Welcome aboard folks :)

The hardest part for me was the first three days. It seemed like Food was EVERYWHERE!!!! At home, things I never like (tuna casserole, hot dogs, bacon) suddenly smelled like Heaven. And at work, folks were bringing in cakes, cookies, chips, etc. For a moment, I felt as though someone was intentionally taunting me and following me secretly with a camera seeing if I would give in.

The only thing I could do (and still do) is try to stay busy, busy, busy. It did get easier after about the middle of the third day. My hunger and cravings just kind of switched from "insane" to "controllable". Go to bed early, take the time to get the rest you need. If you can, take long, quiet walks. Go to a peaceful, quiet place and catch up on reading. I know it's tough, especially if you have kids. But I just told my husband that he needed to give me the time to do this for myself -- especially if he wanted me to lose weight. That seemed to work as a better argument than if I used the "I need it for me" argument :)

Hang in there!!!

 okayyy i'm on day two of my juice fast... I just took a nice little bike ride and made some juice. I almost broke my fast today because something was telling me it wasnt worth it. I need more motivation...!!! I hope i can get over day three. I'm feeling really ]sluggish. [/COLOR] anything i can do to help this???

haz769
05-24-2005, 07:42 PM
Don't stop yet, Banana -- it gets better, I promise!!!!!!!!

Honestly, and I'm speaking only from my own experience, indulge yourself and take naps. Your body may be sluggish because it needs you to slow down a bit while it adjusts to the transition. Day three does get better toward the end -- at least it did for me.

But you know, if you really can't stick with it because you just don't feel "right", don't feel bad! Even two days of juicing is going to be great for your body -- you'll still get a bunch of benefits from it.

Hey Kelly, where are you? How's day 2 going for you? :)

Day 9 for me was not as great as it should have been and I have no one to blame but myself. I agreed to lunch at a favorite mexican restaurant with friends. It's the only place on earth that I actually eat quacamole -- it's that good! I did well and stayed away from chips, sauce, quac -- mainly because if I indulged at this point, I'd be one sick muchacha!!!!! But the only thing even close to reasonable on the menu was a fish based soup. I only ate the broth, but nonetheless, not really on the juice fast menu, I'm sure. But, I clambered back up and had nothing for the rest of the day except water and a fruit juice/carrot juice combo for dinner. I hope I didn't do too much damage. I feel like I'm carrying around 5lbs of salt-retained water though!!!!!!

Hang in there guys, tomorrow afternoon starts to improve, I promise!!!!

One thing that i'm a little worried about.. I didnt have any bowl movements yesterday. I drank about 2 cups of herbal tea and took 2 cayanne capsuls.. What else can i naturall take to help this??? Dates? figgs? aahh i'm at work now gtg but i'll be back in a few hours. Adios fasterooos

Kelly- how's the fast going??! keep it up, u can do it for suree! i did and i never thought i could get through day one! :)

Bananana,

Have you: done yoga, meditated, color (yes, I mean that), read something that interest you, prayer, walk, rearrange your closet, write goals, work with yourself to work on yourself! Take a pamper bath, go out get a pedicure and manicure. Stand out in the sun, raise both arms and bless the sun. Are these helpful.

Here is a thread that can be helpful and read the jounrals of those who did so:http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1870&highlight=Sweet+lips

This is a note that I provided to the group that fasted with me in February, I hope it helps some one.

It is after 1 a.m. here and I am still awake. These past few days have been stressful for me - not so much a negative stress but a time of a lot to do, and my needing clarity of mind and aticulation of thought. I find myself looking for reasons to eat, and knowing that my emotions are running rampart and that is the cause.

I go back over all the wonderful notes that you and others have written to me, and I smile, and I think, would I be letting them down if I quit; would I consider myself a failure if I quit; Should I quit; and I find myself back in a place of indecision and lost thoughts. I realized that at that moment, I am seeing a change - before I would eat and eat and eat some more. But now, I am thinking about my actions, and make a decision not to act on those things.

The other day I got angry. The situation did not warrant all of that -when it effected my blood pressure, when it made feel helpless, and when I gave up my personal power to aid and abet that enemy that sometimes resides in me, and I lose control.

I stuggled for peace, I struggled to regain the steps, I lost, I stuggled to remember that things are not worth the destructive habits I place me in. I have now taken a deep breath, and am assessing how much I mean to me; I chose to fast to heal; I chose to fast to grow; I chose to claim my life and live it. I have spent so long surviving that I forgot how to live.

Thank you all for showing me how to dance in moonlight, how to smile through tears, how to practice living and how to make the decision to not feel like a failure, but embrace myself through it.

I ate yesterday today, a long with my juice, and later in this day, I will begin again because I want too.

Just For Today

Just for today, I will choose to love myself unconditionally...

Just for today, I will function at a high level of competency...

Just for today, I will enjoy all the quirks of my personality...

Just for today, I will try to bring some joy to all I meet...

Just for today, I will enjoy god's most precious giftÂ…

The gift of Today.

I will live Just for today!

Blessings to you as you continue on your journey.

First of all, Vegan, Kelly, and Banana -- you guys are all doing awesome! Don't be so hard on yourselves!!!!!!!!! Think about what you ate one week ago versus what you ate yesterday and no matter how small the change, you've consciously made the effort to make better choices.

And Kelly, how could anyone refuse fish and chips?????? My goodness that sounds soooooooo delicious right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You climbed right back up, though, and that's the important thing. Plus, you were really conscious of how you felt after you ate it. That's a major step -- getting in touch with why certain things should be avoided. Not because it's high in fat, or calories, or cholesterol, etc., but because you're body doesn't want it and responds poorly. Good lesson for you. It may help to keep you motivated more than if you hadn't given in :)

Banana, I read on these sites again and again that Yoga and Pilates are highly recommended -- especially while fasting. You could always get a video and try it at home. It's the one thing I haven't been very good at on this fast -- exercise. I'm hoping to start doing some light walking this week but just haven't found the time yet. There is a whole thread on this website about Raw and Exercise -- peek around in there and see what you find. And as far as the "poo poo" goes -- there are TONS of suggestions on this site. Salt Water Flushes, Herbal Teas, Coffee Enemas -- I think each person responds to something different. Run a search on this site and see what you find. You're doing fabulous -- keep it up!

Great job, Vegan! I love miso broth -- that was a great choice. I did a 7 day juice fast last year and broke it with miso soup. I don't think I ever ate anything that tasted better :) Keep up the good work -- today will be tougher but I know you can do it!

Great job, gang -- we're doing it!!

Sweet lips - wow... that was inspiring for me. Today is getting better, i feel strong that i've able to come this far. I've gained so much self control just over the past 2 days, it's increbible. thank you for all the idea to keep my mind off this fast, i might try a little yoga tonight and end with coloring. :) It was also helpful to read your note, it makes me feel tons better knowing that i'm not the only one who's been in this position and feels like this. I feel normal.

haz- heyy! wow this whole blog of friends is so great to have. Everytime i come back on here, i gain about 10x more energy and motivation than i had before, it's great! After work at 4 i'm going to do a bit of yoga and then try drinking more herbal tea (i hope it works!!) Are you currently fasting?? Whats your typical diet like??? I might slowly in the next day break my fast and go raw. Maybe i'll try eating a tomatoe tonight, because i already feel like i have no much more self control that i had before.. we'll see.. i'll let you guys know for sure.

That was beautiful, Sweet Lips!

Thanks for the inspiration ... although today is my 10th day and I'm doing well, I still find that I get challenged from time to time and I lose the "big picture" of why I started to begin with. You reminded me :)

I had some carrot juice soup -it was yummy ,and savory(I had a savory craving and did not feel like miso) -so I guess you could say I broke the water fast but im not on a juice fast either -some place in between ,but I only had 2 cups so Im NOT complaining......I did 35 minutes of yoga and decluttered my room by packing up books and dust collectors....then cleaned till the surfaces were spotless!!! Nothing feels better than a clean room -and its minimal so I wont be in a frenzy when I move to Ohio, So I think I did good!

You gals are GREAT fast companions -no guilt is given ,but accountability is held ,thats how REAL raw freinds help !!!!

Hi everyone -- how are we doing?

Day 11 now -- starting to feel a little "woozy" if I overexert myself. I was trying to discuss my plans yesterday and could not come up with the word "cook out". I mean, I literally could not think of the word. I'm going to keep trying this day by day but, unfortunately, I work in a job where I have to be mentally keen and if I'm starting to get fuzzy, I may have to stop :(

Other than that, my body feels great! I even had to work concession stand duty for my son's tee-ball last night and had "popcorn" duty. OH MY GOODNESS did that ever smell amazing! But, watching the oil and crap I was using to make it, I wasn't even tempted. I know I don't want to put anything that unhealthy in my now somewhat-healthy body.

Is everyone still hanging in there? Don't be embarrassed or ashamed if you can't. You're not a failure!!!!!!!!!!!!! It just means your body isn't ready yet. If circumstances (holiday get togethers, too much stress, etc.) aren't perfect, you can't expect your body to be ready for such a change. Just try to make healthy choices and maybe try the juicing again at a less crazy time. Just, please, don't be hard on yourself!!!!!

kellymarie
05-26-2005, 08:52 AM
i'm glad you said that haz... i FEEL like a failure, but then i look back and i have been eating nearly 100 percent raw when i cheat, and so it is really not so bad, i think i need to focus on a oner or two day fast, i didn't mention that i am hypoglycemic, so it makes it really hard after the morning and i am very active in my job so i think i will try to juice in the mornings and thenstrive for all raw in the afternoons and evenings, that way i will still be doing myself a great service by only feeding it raw!!!

does that sound like an excuse? it is just so hard!!!! and it may not be healthy for me!!!! i need opinions guys!!

kellymarie
05-26-2005, 08:53 AM
maybe i could do it on the weekend when i can nap if i get tired or dizzy?

banananana
05-26-2005, 09:30 AM
kelly - since you are hypoglycemic i think it would be a better and safer choice to try the juice fast on the weekend. I stared a juice fast this week, only juice monday and tuesday and part of wednesdy. I felt really really tired monday after noon and all of tuesday, since you work with kids it probably would be really difficult. As long as your eating raw throughout the week that'll probably even make the juice fast tons eaiser. i made some realllllllly good juice this morning for breakfast! 2 oranges and a half of an apple! you could even add more oranges, but oh my gosh sooo good! It was the best orange juice i ever tasted in my life.. heaven <3 ! :)

VeganVixen

kelly have you thought of hemp protein powder? Its raw and is good for not getting the "sugar rush" that comes with juices ,it helps in slowing the breakdown if you add it ......I get mine from whole foods ,here is the link http://www.nutiva.com/products/0_protein.php

bananana ,this recipe is great!!! Sometimes the thought of just sweet juice is sorta yucky .....so I adjusted julianos lava recipe and now its a great juice alternative!!!

MY MOST FAVORITE SOUP!!!!!!
Lava

BLEND
1 1/2 cups fresh carrot juice
1 T mint leaves
1 tsp jalapeno
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp garlic
1/4 cup of leftover carrot pulp
2 tsp Olive Oil
2 T Nama Shoyu (or 1.5 tsp Celtic Sea Salt)
1 T basil leaves.

GARNISH with (optional of course)
2 tsp. mint leaves

......Its SO yummy :)

VeganVixen
05-27-2005, 10:21 AM
Well (I think your saying that you find it hard to shop in such a new way) So , what I suggest is learn to LOVE the produce isle .......buy vibrant things with lots of phyto nutrients like red ,purple , dark green ,yellow ,orange ,and the less important white

like red (strawberries,tomatos,razberries,watermelon,apples ect...);

PURPLE (VERY GOOD FOR YOU) from blueberries, dark grapes,blackberries,beets/ juice, cabbage

green - apples,leafy greens,cucumbers,green grapes ,melons

orange-oranges,carrots,cantalope,nectarines,peaches,mango s,yams and sweet potatoes

yellow/white - squash ,bananas, cauliflower, jicama, turnips, corn, rutabegas (this group isnt as important as the ones above)

here are some of my menu plans.....

get some strawberries ,cut them up add them to a DARK rich salad with red or gold bellpepper and tomatoes with a dressing of apple cider vinegar, lemon juice ,mustard seed and olive oil? and add to salad

cucumber slices with this guac, dip or hummus

say no to avo guacamole!!!!!

2 zuchinis (chopped)
2 small cucumber strips or "fingers"

blend well then add...

2 tbs of olive oil or 6 walnut halves
1/2 cup of cilantro
1/2 cup of tomato
1/4 c of lemon or lime juice
1 tbs of jalepino
1 1/4 tsp of salt
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp ginger (optional)
1/4 cup green onions

blend to a quac consistency

Indian spinach dip

4c spinach
1 lg avacado or 1.5 sm avocado
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp Herbamere
1/2 clove garlic
1/4 tsp curry
1/8 tsp fresh ginger
dash chili powder
dash cayenne
dash cumin

- blend all ingredients in food processor
- serve as is or warm in dehydrator

no beans about it hummis

2 zuchinnis
4 cloves garlic

blend then add
1/ 4 to 1/2 lemon juice
1/2 cup parsley
1/4 olive oil or 2 tbs (for lower fat)
tbs of curry
tbs cumin
tsp salt

blend again to desired texture.

btw -This is aprox. what I do -If it comes out to strong add another zuchinni and also add 1/4 lemon j. first THEN add more "to taste"

Its best imo to get the most in the produce section (on the outer sides of the store) THEN go to te middle to get herbs ,shoyu ,miso ,oil ,nuts ect.....but REALLY try to get vibrant yummy veggies and fruit ,be creative OR just eat mono fruit ....its really simple for what you want (if you want heavier more filling stuff eat more nut based things ,if you want lighter but still as fufilling food eat mostly veggies and fruits)

hope this helps ,if youd like more recipes Ill share !!!!

Hi all -- I can't wait to try the carrot soup! I'm sooooo tired of regular old veggie broth that some new stuff sounds exciting :)

Kelly, hypoglycemia is nothing to play around with. I haven't done any searches of the site to see if there are any special recommendations but I would almost guarantee you will have to take things a lot more carefully than the average juicer on this site. I think the best suggestion is exactly what our pals here have already said -- first, try only one or two days when you don't have to work and second, maybe combine that with doing juice two out of three meals at first. See how your body reacts. Remember, you're doing this for your body so listen to what she wants!!!!!

Well, I've learned an important lesson about juicing long term. Not to be too graphic but definitely plan for mother nature's monthly gift. Mine hit and wow, did my energy bottom! And boy, did my surly attitude skyrocket!!! My poor husband brought home a gyro last night and I almost locked him out of the house. I swear I can still smell it this morning. Otherwise, day 12 and still going -- maybe not as strong as I was before, but still hanging in there.

You guys are the reason I'm hanging in there -- I was ready to give up a bunch of times the past two days but if you guys are willing to battle thru those first few days, I'm willing to keep going as well!

Have a great day!!!!!

Just saw this thread, thought I'd say hi.

I started raw April 30th, with a fast and cleanse, and then 7 day juice fast only, and it was wonderful. Since then, until Monday, I've been juicing at least 2 times each day, rarely fruit, mostly lots and lots (not to be too emphatic about it, but LOTS AND LOTS) of greens and reds and beta carotenes - from asparagus to zucchini and everything in-between!

I do eat raw salads once in a while, and the sprouts I make on the drainboard by my sink, and I eat fruits (they really don't juice too wonderfully in my JLL juicer unless they're harder, like apples. Apples are perfect! Papaya - not so good at all. Pineapple, so-so) but not too many daily because I really don't need the sugar.

This Monday I joined the Frederic Patenaude (gosh, I hope I didn't butcher his name too much) summer cleanse.

Being me, I had to change it around a little.

I juice 3 times per day, usually between 24 and 32 oz of fresh green juice each time. I only eat sprouts, maybe a tomato to go with it, and some jicama and sunchokes with fresh herbs from the window garden and lemon juice.

Dessert may be a cup of blueberries. Maybe. I sort of miss the nuts and olive oil, mostly for the nutrients they provide, but for 5 days I'm not complaining too loudly. I can just about do anything for 5 days. ;-)

Meanwhile, I never felt better than when I'm juicing. I will never stop doing this! I do understand I can't do it exclusively, but for 5 days each month I think that's my particular path.

More power to you all for juicing!

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been around -- crazy schedule at work.

So we're still hanging in there, huh? FABULOUS!!! I don't think anyone should feel bad about the holiday weekend -- how hard was that!! Welcome aboard, Jackie -- glad to have you with us :)

The SAT's, Vegan? Good luck on that! This will be a stressfull week -- try to take time for you every day to relax, even if it's just a few moments.

From what I've read on RAW sites, Banana -- you can't eat too much. Eat when you're hungry and eat until you're full. Especially at first. That way you won't feel deprived during the transition. That's what the experts say, anyway.

Well, I'm on day 18 of the juice fast. Still hanging in there but it's definitely getting tougher. I mean, physically, I feel great. All of the things that were promised -- mental clarity, increased energy, focus -- I feel all of those things, although, not all of the time. It seems to come in spurts. From time to time I get light-headed or a headache, but I expect that kind of thing. The only thing I have to watch out for is getting up too quickly -- I was crouched down yesterday looking at something on the floor and jumped up and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, almost blacked out. That was an experience. But, as long as I'm careful, I'm fine. I'm not hungry but I'm definitely craving things. Wow oh wow am I craving things! Oddly enough, I've always had a horrible sweet tooth but that's not what I'm craving. I'm craving prime rib and cheeseburgers and brats. But, since I have no plan on going back to the carniverous way of life, those things will just have to be part of my past.

Hang in there kids -- I'm so proud of us :)

hey haz! i was wondering where you went! congrats on day 18, thats such a huge accomplishment! your doing the 30 day fast.. correct? I know what you mean about thoes strange cravings, like steak, hotdogs..blah blah ick ick ick! Whenever i get these urges I think about how bad it would be for my body, almost like a poison. Fasting was soo tough for me. RAW* is so much easier and i hope to stick with it 100% ! my only problem is that i'm overloading on fruits because they're soo good, and i'm probably not eating enough veggies.

where did kelly go?? I hope she's doing okay.

hi, how are we all doing gang?

Vegan, how did the SAT's go? I kept my fingers crossed for you :)

Yep, Banana, this is my first 30 day juice fast. I've done a 3 and a 7 day before. Those were through an actual five week class with a nutritionist. We had $130 worth of natural supplements and built up to the fast. I can honestly say that this has been easier -- and I started cold-turkey and with no supplementation. Although, I'll be honest, here at day 21 -- I'm a little tired of juice and veggie broth. I made my own "veggie soup" today where I sauteed some diced green peppers, onions, garlic, spinach, diced tomatoes, green chiles and carrots then pureed the heck out of it. Then, I pureed it again! I then simmered it for several hours in a combo broth of chicken and veggie broths. Just about everything broke down. It's obviously not clear broth but just about. Every once in a while it will get a little thick.

I suppose it could be considered "cheating" but I definitely needed something as I was getting really fatigued. That's been my only complaint about the fast, the fatigue. From all that I have read on this site and others, I was hoping I'd have more energy at this point. For the most part, I feel clear, focused, and much healthier, but I'm getting more and more tired every day. I still plan to go the whole 30 days though. My body definitely is thanking me for the effort (other than the fatigue).

Where can I learn more about the Frederick Patenaude plan?

Keep going kids!!!!!

haz

hey guys....
i'm into approx 2 weeks of being raw and cook food looks so so so good! right now i feel like eating everything except RAW food... but i havent! My mood keeps changing, one min. i'll feel great, and happy, then the next i'll feel depressed down. It seems like this is so hard to keep up, people keep asking me about this "diet" and it's hard to make them understand. I dont know what to do, i need some advice!! :(

Congrats on two weeks of 100% raw, Banana -- that's quite an accomplishment!

Sounds like you and I might be in the same boat (day 22 on the juice fast) -- that is, our expectations based on what we read and researched certainly aren't being fulfilled now that we're doing it. Well, sometimes it's being fulfilled -- just not like we had hoped!

Everyone here seems to feel so amazing and fabulous on RAW/juice/etc., can anyone explain to us why we seem to be so up and down?

HELP -- we need an "encouragement" lifeline :)

HI

I wish I would have known this thread was here last week! I did my very first ever 7 day juice fast last week and it was so neat. It felt really weird when I ate something again and had to chew! :)
I would like to do a longer fast (30 days would be great) but I am nursing a 6 1/2 month old exclusively and I don't know if I should do such a long fast. I was fine for the week long fast though. Any one know any more about fasting while breastfeeding?
What I would like to do is fast once a month for 7 days until I am done nursing her, or at least until she is eating real food. What do you think?

Keep up the great work!

I just read somewhere that P&B should NOT be taken during the cleanse, because the Physillium takes a long time to work its way down our bowels and may cause constipation....the SWF will just defeat the purpose or worse cause a stroke cus it will not be able to be eliminated!
YIKESSS??
What do you's guy's think??
The same person said to follow the MC with 5 day juice fast then add the P&B? I plan to follow my MC with a juice fast anyway so I just may do this!!
