Pastuerization of Leafy Greens - deadline Dec 3rd

There is a proposal for federal regulations to mandate the "pasteurization" of all greens, and allowing only untill Monday, Dec. 3 for public comment.

Oh God! This is getting so scary! And it pisses me off. Sorry, but it does. This is MY body and I should have the right to decide what I put in it, on it, near it, etc.! I think the government has other "issues" to deal with besides regulating our foods like they are doing.

Read the document. It looks like this is voluntary. Still BS and still a bad idea as it would likely affect most people who by greens.

I read the proposal by the Dept. of Agriculture, and it looks like they really do want feedback. Hopefully they will receive enough "thumbs-downs" to make a difference. I think it's crazy how short of a notice people have to leave comments. Thank goodness for the internet!
