I have read in the 'over 50's' thread that eating avocado pits are good for arthritis. How do we eat avocado pits. Is a 'pit' the stone. Does anyone know of any information about this? I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Hey guys, there was a whole discussion about this a month or two ago I think. If you do a search you can probably find it.

i just know my blender was touted as grinding the pit (full of whatever vit/minerals) in a smoothie. they had a video if it.
with a hi speed blender it is supposed to come out creamy.

Thanks everyone for your input. I will give it a try. Then I'll let you know what I think of it. Bob 'sawed' one in half with the bread knife and it tasted a little bit like a bitter chestnut.

Hi guys, I just tried this! I read yesterday that an avocado pit has the life force energy of a tree! So I did some research, then this morning I quartered the pit with a heavy knife, threw it in the blender with a little water and it smoothed up in just seconds! I threw in half a pineapple (core included) and whipped it. Delicious! Maybe it will help my aching knees!?
P.S. I don't have a Vita Mix, but a Bosch bread mixer with a blender on top from my gramma's breadmaking days. I was so glad it worked and didn't seem to even strain the motor.

I always thought it was toxic?
Anyways I am in the process of sprouting a few of mine to grow trees.

I always thought it was toxic too. Same for the core of a pineapple.

Of course, you'd never believe how many of us believe that it is impossible to eat corn that is not cooked!

I'm curious about this, but I'm not sure that I'm ready to try. :o

Eva... you heard the core of a pineapple was toxic?? Really?? I've been eating the cores since childhood... not saying I'm perfectly healthy or normal tho :p
