The corn in the store's freezer cabinet, is that just corn that has been cooked and frozen ? How about the other fruits and veggies in the store freezer ? Is anything fresh in there ?

In my experience/opinion: It's all cooked. At the bare minimum - it's highly processed and not fresh.....but if YOU know it to be healthy...and helpful to you...then I support you 100%.

What about organic frozen fruit? Would you consider that to be "cooked"?

Flash freezing is a technique in which the pieces of food are kept separate, frozen solid, then put in a bag or container. Not only does the food freeze more quickly this way but the pieces should keep separate in the bag or container. The food may or may not be blanched prior.

In the case of frozen vegetables, they are almost always blanched. Fruit may or may not be. Strawberries are never blanched. That would cause them to break down.

Blanched is a cooking term that describes a process of food preparation wherein the food substance, usually a vegetable or fruit, is plunged into boiling water, removed after a brief, timed interval and finally plunged into iced water or placed under cold running water (shocked) to halt the cooking process.

Yeah - its brief boiling. The purpose is to destroy the enzymes, the opposite of what we want ;)

If you freeze your own fruit would you still kill the enzymes?

Blanched means dipping in boiling water for a minute or three, depending on what the food is. It helps break down the fibers in the food.

-In my opinion...yes its cooked. But don't get too hung up on the word 'cooked'. It makes little difference (in my opinion) whether you take something living and vital and burn it or freeze it. LOL. I wouldn't appreciate it....and generally speaking....neither does fresh, raw plant food....nutritionally speaking.

-Some say fire....some say ice......but I think either would suffice.......heh..heh...
