December is always so hard for me to stay committed with my workouts... something about it being so cold outside and just wanting to stay in my warm cozy house... so this will be a great motivator... I'm excited :D
My goal is to stay very consistent and progress with my raining... I have been lazy lazy the last 2 weeks  and I am feeling it!!

Heck yes, I'm in.
This morning I woke up and went to a 1 hour "weekend wake-up" class at my university gym. It changes weekly, but this week was Boxercise, and I knew I wanted to try that class. Next week is step (*gag* -- no offense to anyone who loves step), so next Saturday I'm planning on using the rowing machines and doing some jump rope.
I only recently started exercising regularly, and I must say I love it. I never thought I would love exercising so much!
My fitness goals for December:
Lose at least 1 pants size. Right now I'm a US 10/UK 12-14. I haven't bought any clothes since I've been in the UK, so I'm not sure if I'm a 12 or a 14 most of the time.
I'm not really concerned about my weight, and I don't want to measure my success by weight (that always leads to undereating for me).
Be able to do at least 2 sets of 10 real push-ups (not girly ones)
A girl 6-pack! -- This has been my ultimate goal for years, but only now do I say it and think it is possible. Woot!
Nfracer, you're a hoot! How could I not be in after that! I got lax this past week, but I'm ready to start a new month. Once again, thanks for all you do to encourage us all.

Last month was funny- I exercised 15 of 30 days, which doesn't seems too bad, but those were the first 15 days all in a row, then nothing! There was a lot of stress and exercise was the first thing to go for me. When I miss a yoga class I don't usually do any other exercise. I won't have a yoga membership this month, so I need to get into a new habit of doing exercise videos at home or walking/jogging. It's never been easy for me, so I hope I can do it. When I don't exercise in the morning, I put it off and it never happens. After I eat breakfast and get ready would be the best time. I feel so much better when it's out of the way early in the day. Hey I should start this today! I will exercise here after I finish my tea.:)
December Goal: This month I want to exercise every day seriously even if it's just a 15 minute walk.

After that cute & clever invitation, how can I say no?
I'M IN!! :D
December Goals
**Simply to listen to what the body wants and continue to engage in activity every day. But NO MORE forcing hardcore workouts, if it's the long hike that I'm craving - I will DO IT!
**Get that lovin' feelin' back for my workouts. I am terrible at listening to the body, and I think that's what has me motivationally down in the dumps at the moment. The past few days have left me feeling that I'm mindlessly going through the motions...This challenge is just what I need.
Good luck to all!

Hello ! I am in for December yet I am taking Day 1 & 2 Off and just doing my Infra Red Sauna. I needed a few down days since I am "dieting". A mirror inspection shows I need some fatloss and not physical conditioning. Since my work outs make me hungry and I am home so much this week I wanted to not be starving on my Juice Diet. I will work out tomorrow since I will not be home facing the kitchen. We have "crock pot day" at the Office tomorrow..chili, soups meat balls and so on..It will be easy to stay on diet with that SAD food in my face.
DAY 1, 2 & 3 OFF, InfraRed Sauna only

I need to be in on this. I have a company offsite meeting December 10-12th and I vow to exercise every day until then.
I need to get back to running a couple of times a week and doing my push up/sit up routine. Also stretching in the morning and night.
And can I please get myself to some yoga classes?!!

Happy Monday from the cyber gym!
Hope your day and workouts are going well. I awoke to a blustery mix here in nny and was pleased to find out "mid-run" on my treadmill that my school had a 2 hour delay!!!! Unfortunately so did my own children (oops, did I say that out loud:rolleyes: )....At any rate, who can complain about an extra 2 hours on a Monday morning!!!! NOT ME!!!!!
I am excited to see some new fitness elves here in our "cyber gym" and hope we can all support each other this month. As your "cyber coach" I first encourage you to plan your workouts and modify as needed. It really helps me and I find I stick to it better if I put it down on paper or here on this thread...
I am going to the doctor's today for my 3 month (surgery) check up and x-ray... Please pray that my bones are healed!!!! If so I am ready and able to begin training seriously for the (tinman) triathlon in Tupper Lake, NY at the end of June.....I'll post later after my appt....I am sure all is well! Have a great day!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot...I rode my recumbent bike for 30 minutes this a.m., walked 30 minutes, ran 1 hour and walked another 10 minutes....Have a great day!:p

Different fitness levels, indeed. Like me, who can barely make it 20 minutes on the treadmill! :o
Week 2 of my BFL challenge! Muscles are feeling better, I did my LBWO this morning and threw in a little cardio too. I'm working on being able to run for a mile (sheesh, I used to be able to run 3!) but at this point, I can only run 2 minutes. I know it will get better as I keep exercising, it's just hard to lose all that stamina when you quit working out and have to start all over when you start up again. Sigh.

((Sound the trumpets))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my x-ray results and "all's clear"...Doctor approved "working out" again....didn't humor him by mentioning I'd BEEN running for many weeks now and 50+ per week...He said I could "gradually increase" my workouts so I guess I am officially signing upm for the TinMan triathlon in June....Hey RawFigure why don't you do it with me!!!!!!! There's a sprint race too you know!!!! We could have a rawsome power team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'll have to talk....anyone else near us????? OK, anyone in NNY at all? How about Ontario, CA????
Started double workouts! This a.m. was a rec. bike, walk, run + toniight stairmaster and sauna....now off for some cuddle time with the kids and much needed shut eye!!!

Happy Monday... Still Monday by my time zone. Though it's close to 11 p.m., I am on my way home to do some sort of exercise for 20 minutes.
I'm also planning to fast toward the end of this year. It's my way of celebrating the end of the year and the beginning of another year. But I am still going to try to push it with the exercise since last month had so many unexpected surprises...........

Well so far my December hasn't been that great... worked out today though yah! Today did weights and abs for an hour... not too bad I guess. No cardio though, I try to switch every other day weights/abs and every other day cardio (usually running).
December is so difficult to be on top of everything it's frustrating  whether it's too cold outside to go running (no excuse I know... just bought some warmer running clothes), whether work is kicking my booty since it's almost the years end... or whether I've been so busy studying for this national examination for further certification for my job eeks  it's on Friday and I'm sooo nervous!!
Happy workouts to all you Raw folks... no excuses (pointing finger at myself :p ) get your booty moving and shaking!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
On Sunday, I didn't do a whole lot of exercise -- just some walking to and from the store.
Yesterday, I went to trampolining practice, and then I did 2000 meters on the rowing machine, and 10 minutes on the treadmill with a 4 minute walking cooldown. When I work on the treadmill, I do 2 minutes of running, 1 minute of fast walking. I'm not much of a runner yet, but I can do it in 2 minute stretches with a little break in between each.
Today, I'm not sure what I'm doing. My one class today got cancelled, so I have all afternoon to play.

Motivation has been a lot better. think it has to do with not feeling so overwhelmed with the semester. Now that things are finishing up, I can see winter break coming and that makes me happy and energized. Also helps to be in the challenge, of course!
So, today's agenda:
Heading out for a 6 miler immediately after I type this. Gotta get outside and run, even though there's ice everywhere.
1 hr. yoga tonight

I'd like to be in on this one, lets just see if I remember to post my workouts.
My main goal is to exercise 3 x a week for 45 mins Minimum 1 hour max.
My Ultimate Goal is to exercise daily:
I plan is to exercise 45 minutes everyday.
So this might look confusing, but I want to be sure to exercise 3 times a week but my plan is to exercise everyday. As long as I hit the 3 days I'm happy, but I'd love to workout 7 days a week.
I am exhausted today from working today and 12 hours yesterday. You should all be proud because I felt like coming home and going to sleep but after I made my sad dinner for the family/cleanup, and school lunches for tomorrow, I did 35 minutes of rebounding/abs/inner thighs. Now I am going to relax in the bathtub for a few but hopefully by 9:00 p.m. it will be an early lights out.
Happy Monday... Still Monday by my time zone. Though it's close to 11 p.m., I am on my way home to do some sort of exercise for 20 minutes.

I need to fast myself, I have to really think hard, but I might just join you Morn and Lavenderj
Yesterday and today I worked out on the weight machine. But I'm really excited about something that happened today and I didn't even realize the importance of it until later in the evening. I got really iritated at work today and decided to clock out for lunch and go for a walk. I walk on my lunch break quite often, but the fact that I went for a walk to work off steam--instead of EAT...without a second thought! It's really a big deal in my evolution.

Sounds like a plan Morn; I woke up and just said "I gotta do this today"....For some reason, I've been really stressed and not motivated (I guess tired of all the ripping and running)...I don't want to go into a new year grouchy and feeling unsure and so that's why I'm fasting. I didn't even work out last night. But I am determined not to let this hectic crazy schedule undo all of my progess...
Today my goal is just to knock out 20 minutes of boot camp; I;ll be happy with that.

This week got off to a rough start. On Monday the dc's school was canceled so I missed my first training session and couldn't get to the gym at all that day. Yesterday there was a 2 hour delay so by the time I got there I had missed all the classes. I did ride the bike for 20 min and jog/walk on the treadmill for 60 min.
I learned a very important thing. In 2003 I had knee surgery. I don't know what it's officially called, but basically they cut my knee cap free, repositioned it and screwed it back into place with 3 3" screws. It's pretty good as long as I don't do squats or deep knee bends. it does bug me when I run but I just thought i would have to live with it, til yesterday. I learned that if I put the treadmill at an incline and do a brisk walk my heart rate is the same as if I am jogging on a straightway, going a but faster!!!
Today I missed the kick boxing class I was trying to make. So I thought would get on the treadmill for 45 min and then go to the Centergy class afterward. Well.....I forgot my wallet, which I needed to pay for the childcare option. I ran out to the car and was able to scrounge up just $2 for 1 hour. Dd had never been before and was SUPER clingy, so I only got to go on the treadmill for 30 min and then my time was up. :(
It's all a learning process, I guess.
(but I feel MUCH better, even with just 30 min., plus I am going to take dd out to go sledding in a bit, so maybe that will count for something? LOL!)

Hi everyone
Started the month ok with a good run saturday and a 10k race sunday but have been struck down with a migrane headache on monday and a continuous bad headache since then. I'm hoping its detox as i've had 3 in 3 weeks wheras i normally get 1 or 2 a year.
I went to the doctors today, she kept asking me if i was stressed in any way, couldn't believe it when i kept saying no, never been less stressed in my life! She decided it could be a) stress, b) a virus, c) possibly because i gave up alcohol over 6 weeks ago!
I will take medication short term just to be free of this pain but will continue high raw and hopefully it will balance itself out. I really want to run a half marathon sunday.
Well done everyone on your great efforts

RF-Maybe it's just the stess of the holidays????? Morn's kick in the butt to me (LOL) made me realize you, me, actually all of us on this thread probably expect SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much of ourselves. I've come to realize that all raw foodists have many like characteristics, one of which is the "type A" mentality I (we all???) get into....BE THE BEST, DO THE BEST, EXCEPT NO LESS OF YOURSELF, ETC, ETC, ETC.................
For me, and maybe for all of us; I need to periodically stand back and see myself. Do you know what I mean? Reflection of sorts.....a pep talk to me. It helps so maybe it will help you to answer these questions or reflect on these statements (not just RawFigure but all of you----myself included) As 2007 draws to a close reflect:
Are you "healthier" than you were a year ago?
Are you too hard on yourself?
Do you make better food choices now?
Are you happy?
" comfortable with yourself?
Why did you choose to go raw?...Are those reasons still applicable?
Sometimes I forget I USED to weigh 50 pounds more, not exercise like I do now, and was typically embarrassed with my appearance.
Now, I still have those old feelings crop up when I am feeling "yucky" but I KNOW I am soooooo much healthier & happier now. When I get in that mindset I literally have to go off by myself (sauna, run, etc.....) and then journal my feelings......+ "get ahold of myself"
As I ramble at this early hour there is a moral for all of us:
BE PROUD OF YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2007, even if you are just beginning your raw journey/exercise.
TAKE EACH DAY AS A NEW BEGINNING.
ENJOY YOURSELF. LOVE YOURSELF......or no one else can
smile in the mirror/ frown in the mirror....I guarantee that person will do the same.....so SMILE and pass your reflection on!!!!
and most importantly (My favorite)..........
look beyond the cellulite and see the ripped muscles developing;)
(hey, if you can't laugh at that one I'm sorry----but c'mon, we all have it don't we? well I do anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )
Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! goin' for a run!

Better late than never :D
Sorry i havent checked in for awhile Ive been working out where to concentrate my efforts etc.
I am still committed to this fitness thread & the obese raw fooders thread.
I am aiming for consistency in my life...my approach to exercise isnt really steady & consistent.....nothing one day then 7 hours the next:eek:
So i wont be setting myself too many exercise challenges this month apart from using my rebounder daily even if it is only for 15 minutes ;)
Instead Im going to concentrate on getting to bed at the same resonable time EVERY night, getting up at the same time EVERY day, using my lightbox every day, & other positive activities like breathing exercises & meditation. I feel this will serve me best as the way forward to a 2008 where I can start to integrate daily exercise in a more moderate & consistent way :D
will be checking in to cheer you all on

Powerful words nfracer!!! :)
Haven't missed a day of my challenge workouts! Yesterday was cardio, I really pushed myself to hit those 10's, and today is LBWO. More cardio tomorrow and Sunday is my rest day.
Today I worked out with a friend at the gym. Because of my fasting I feel a lot weaker than nomal. It is day four for me and I am down one more pound yeah. I am at 137 now.
Today’s exercise: 50 minutes
35 minutes elliptical machine
10 minutes stationary bike
5 minutes floor abdominal exercises

Great questions to keep in the back of my mind throughout the journey. thanks for those!
I am on day 5 of MC, energy is really good, but I am taking it easy on the workouts as to not promote more appetite.
today: rebounding & walk 3 miles.

fasting vs. exercise question. OK, here's my question...If I am training for a marathon in May and a triathalon in June is it wise to try to fast? Will I lose my fitness base? Will my fitness benefit in the long run (pun not really intended but kinda cute!).....I am scheduled to start colonics in a couple weeks....think maybe that will be good enough? any thoughts on the matter???
long run tomorrow...hope to do at least 15 miles....on my TM!!!! can't run outside until hunting season is over....too many freaky accidents around here in the hicks!:p

I suppose it depends on how long you plan to fast and how your body has responded to fasting in the past. I'd bet you can fast now and still be fine for May. But I am a fasting newbie, so maybe somebody else has experience with this? I have noticed that although I am feeling really good, I don't have 100% of the strength that I normally would, hence the long power walks, etc. (and good choice staying away from those crazy hunters... )

Hello Lovely Raw People!
I just wanted to check in while I had a free moment. I'm tired and stressed with everything going on. Yet, I am determined to progess onward. I can't afford to lose sight of what lies ahead.....
I will be fasting for a few weeks. I may take a few days off from conversation just so that I can really get grounded. I haven't even blogged in a while. I'm just trying to regroup and focus myself for 2008 - you know thinking about what was accomplished this year, what I still need to work on, etc.
Starting tomorrow, I might not post for the next 3 or 4 days but I'm planning on keeping it RAWKING with ya still.
Today is just some stretches and maybe yoga or breathing exercises
I might get a chance to post later today:)
I am tired, weak, and disoriented (dizzy) today. It may be because I haven't been drinking a whole lot of my lemonade so I will see how I feel in a few hours after I get some lemonade in me. If I feel better I will exercise, if not I will take the day off. I am down to 135 so I am happy about that however, I still want to lose another 5 pounds before I quit. I am only on day 5 of my fasting and have another 5 more days to go. My husband is concerned and says I may need to stop. I don't want to. I am also freezing!:( Overall not a great day for me.
Di - I think when you are fasting you will not have as much energy to really push yourself hard to train. It will help you with the weightloss aspect but you will have to somewhat take it easier. So really the decision is yours. You could always try it and see how you feel. Everyone is different.

I know the 130 mark is a brass ring for you but do you think maybe it's too low for you? I know I am always struggling with the same 10 pounds myself and am actually taking a break from the scales for the moment because I became a SLAVE to the scale, etc.....I am TRYING to listen to my body (except for that evil voice that says EAT NUTS!!!!:D ).....friendly advice that maybe you should do the same? I know you want to complete the cleanse so how about a modified fast in which you have 1 fruit meal daily? papaya, melon, something easy to digest? Of course the choice is yours. I am just speaking from my own experience from losing a lot of weight, etc...if you want to talk more off the thread pop me an e-mail....Please don't fret too much over 5 pounds....YOU HAVE LOST 95 POUNDS!!!!! You are part of the reason I "came back" to raw foods. You are healthier and happier right? Don't add stressed out to it...been there, done that!

so caught up in lecturing you Morn (sorry if I did, just being a "cyber friend!":p ) that I forgot to post my workout. I am building my base and long run back up so I "did" 17 miles on the treadmill. I walked 2 ran 14 I guess and then walked 1 more for a total of 17 miles.....Holy sweat! Then I made a yummy blended pineapple & spinach combo in my FP which my son Josh LOVED which is amazing because HE HATES VEGETABLES! I am going to attempt to post the pictures we took eating/making it.....give me a few minutes, I am bad at this!
Oh yeah, I started a thread about quantum eating on the forum but haven't heard anything...Have you guys heard of it? Tonya Zavasta wrote a book about it....She doesn't eat after 2 p.m.???? I am going to try to find out more...
off to upload the pics.

rebounding for 45 minutes this morning. Low energy and tired.
Trying to down a bit more of the MC lemonade now for energy and then am planning on yoga. 1 hour & 45 minutes, so I need to psych myself up for this.
Thanks for your note NF Racer. You changed your avatar instead of attaching a picture. You need to click on the yellow mountain square above your new message that you are typing (which is an insert image button) and it will ask you for your file source to be uploaded. But you do look great in your new avatar!
As far as the weight thing goes I would be happy maintaining 135 but I know once I get off my fast I will gain some pounds back so I know I need to be at 130 to give myself some leeway. The only way I will ever know what my true body's weight should be is to do some experimenting and then I will know for sure. I think a good indication of what it should be will be known if I lose the weight and I can't maintain it with eating raw and a regular exercise plan. But thanks for the talk. I think I have been getting a little stressed lately since I have only been maintaining and not making any headway to my goal. I want to be healthy and not in bondage to the scale either. Plus my husband is still wanting me to lose the last 10 and be into a size four. But overall I am thin enough - really I just have those areas that need flattening and toning. Not sure if I will ever get rid of the stomach flab with out surgery - but I am trying and the area of cellulite behind my legs. I look good in clothes but without clothes is a different story!
Today's exercise: 30 minutes of Cardio Caberet - Yoga bootie ballet
I pushed myself to complete it. I do feel a bit better after getting some more lemonade in me. I have been barley drinking any of the lemonade at all of the last few days so I will make it a point to drink more so I can get my energy up a bit. I also need to drink more water as I was probably dehydrated as well.

I haven't done any exercise this week due to the migranes. I went to the doctors in the end as i couldn't stand them anymore, I've had to take the pills she prescribed just to get me back to normalish but not been able to run.
I'm planning on a short run tomorrow then cranking it up in the week if i feel ok (and dont get another bad head)

Well, lets see...I did not work out from June-December as I hurt my foot in Yoga. I hate not working out!!! I started about 2 weeks ago. I already feel better. I need the movement...whatever it is, for my mind and my body.
I have been doing Yoga, Weights, Elliptical & walking the dogs. My goal for now is...
Yoga...3 times a week
Weights...4 times a week
Eliptical...3 times a week
Walk the dogs...When I can stand the cold.
I also want to get a rebounder...bad. I'm working on that now.
Todays workout...
Running the Rack with weights (I do 4 sets in a row without resting for each body part going up in weight each set) for Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. It is quick but hard. We also walked the dogs for a mile (38 degrees F)

I JUST CANNOT FAST!!!!! 5 kids and a SAD DH surround me with fooooooooooooood...I could fast in the wilderness, alone...On second thought I'd be eating the vegetation!
My "dream" would be to represent the raw folks like us on "Survivor." Hmmm? I've always wanted to do that show!

Hey nfracer -
Quickly checking in (fasting still)... I'm in bed and can't sleep for some reason. I live in the Metro St Louis area and this is the third day of freezing rainy like weather that is just slick cold and wet during the day at 32 degrees but when the temperature drops at night the streets turn into ice rinks. I hope it won't be like last December where we were without power for a couple of weeks because of the ice snapping the trees and causing power outages...
Energy levels too low to do much exercise yesterday (forgot it is technically tuesday for me now - 1:00 a.m.) That's one of the sacrifices with fasting, it does effect exercise momentum to some degree. I really would like to do a half marathon as a "just because" goal. I don't know if I would be ready by early spring though. I can't wait until I have consistent exercise patterns again. I know it's important to do something when you can but I perform better with set days I think.... I don't know

:D
Thanks for the swift kick! I did get up Sunday and hit the rebounder. Hurt my foot (I have bunion troubles even though I had the surgery a few yrs ago). The knuckle on my big tow was killing me yesterday so I just worked out with the weights on my upper body. It's better today, so I'll attempt the rebounder again this evening. Could barely hobble around yesterday. Since I sit all day I really need my exercize! Everyone is doing to well! And again, thanks for the nudge!
today's exercise: 45 minutes of rebounding
Today is day 9 of my fast and I am down another pound to 132. Only 2 more pounds and I will be at the 100 pound mark. I am excited. I worked out earlier at the club and then went to the thifty store to see if I could find some clothes in a size 4 that would fit me better. I found a great pair of jeans that were a whole $2.50. They are my first size four pair of jeans and I love them.
Todays exercise: 50 minutes
35 minutes elliptical machine
10 minutes stationary bike
5 minutes abdominal exercises
Congrats Morn!! Size 4! Isn't that for babies?! You little twig!
Anyway--I got my lazy self up this morning for 30 minutes on the rebounder and then worked out with the weights. Feels so good! When I miss, my muscles seem to ache for exercize! Believe me, that's a totally NEW feeling!

I wear a size 4 but I have to WORK MY BUTT OFF (literally) everyday to stay that way.....I am NOT fasting---you and RF and LavendarJ are good at it...I am however having great success eating "Quantumly" (is that a word?) I have not ordered the book yet by Tonya Zavasta (wish Santa would bring it) because I can't see spending $ on me when I have so much Christmas shopping to do!!!! Anyway, it is working well for me....just need to get better at planning ahead for the day...Since I eat only 2x a day 6:30 and 12:30ish I need to eat + bring EVERYTHING I am going to eat for the day which can be hard....I'm getting better though and love going to bed feeling "fully digested" since I don't eat after 2 p.m.
been running well....8 miles per day:p
Today is day 10 of my fast and I am down another pound to 131. Now I know how I look and feel at my goal weight and I am pretty happy. If I could maintain this it would make me pretty happy. I know I will go up after the fast is over and I am ok with that. History dictates I will gain 2 pounds overnight just from food being in my system. It just means I will probably have to do another fast within a few months to get back down. If I am 5 pounds ahead it will all have been worth it. I worked out this morning at the gym and then did some shopping in the afternoon. I am looking forward to being off of my fast. Tomorrow is fresh squeezed OJ to transition my body back into eating mode again and I am hoping to lose that last pound before I end my fast!
Today's exercise:
1 hour of step aerobics
5 minutes of abdominals

Morn, you are motivating. Di, I am not good at the Juice Fasting Yet. But I keep trying and get more practiced every day I make it thru.
I did not work out today as I did not feel well. So I decided I may feel better if I eat food & broke my juice fast. I will go back on it tomorrow. I cannot seem to go more than 3 days on liquid. I have been feeling crappy and today was so ill when I woke up, nausous and a horrid headache. I still have it at 10 PM tonight. I thought it was the Flu but I am not really "sick". I just feel terrible. I am still taking Bowtrol (for colon cleanse & parasites) so I have been doing this cleanse for 7 months and believe it or not I will need to keep it up for a year I think. Di, I want to learn more about the Quantum eating. We can talk over your holiday. We will have to arrange a time. Funny thing Di is for the last year I weighed in like 6 times !! Then last week I decided to weigh in daily. Its nuts ! I have found that I think about my weight now, so I agree the scale can enslave us. SO back to once (ok maybe twice  ) a week !!
Feeling better, off to work out ! Have a good day.
Today is day 11 of my fast – transition day including OJ. Tomorrow morning will be oj and then I will be eating at my family Christmas party what I bring which will be a garden salad and veggie tray. I worked out at the gym earlier today and did some shopping. The good news was I finally made it to my goal weight of 130. The news was quickly over shadowed with the fact that my husband got laid off from his job today. I am emotionally drained from the news. We expected it since he hasn’t had a lot of work and the company is financially not doing well - but not a week before Christmas and before his vacation time. I know god has a plan and we are in the palm of his hand – just more stretching in my faith for me. I am trying not to be upset but I am. Things are very rough here in Michigan with the economy and jobs are not easy to come by. They also cut my hours way back at work too so I am a bit stressed about the financial aspect of it all and how it will all work out. Well I have to go and make some Christmas cookies as gifts for my family to hand out tomorrow. I appreciate any prayers you guys could offer up on our behalf for a new job for my husband and just overall provision. Thanks.

Morn, I am so sorry. I will Pray for you.
I had plans early so I skipped a work out. I must hit it tomorrow. Will be Snowed in so I will have time !!!
I did something to my Jaw on the left side, like a dislocation. It is TMJ ! Not sure how it happens, OK one min...popping the next ! I pop in and out if I chew. It was so sore yesterday and today it is just annoying. I must have only liquids. I did this once before and had to have my Chiropractor put it back in..( TMJ has gotten bad with stress at work ) I moved so I hope I can find a new Chiro FAST !! If not I will travel the 1:15 to see my reg. one.
Downside I cannot eat much...Upside....I Cannot eat much !!! Liquids for me !~
How are you feeling today. Is it better yet?
Today's exercise: 30 minutes of rebounding/abs

How are you feeling today. Is it better yet?
Morn, No, it is the same. Annoying for sure ! Wearing my Night Guard helped it from getting worse and I actually woke up w/o a headache. So must be my headaches are TMJ associated too.
I am hoping to get to my Chiro Tue or Wed. Until then, Juicing will keep me going. I am glad I have lots of Juice Options in the cupboard. I also can make soups. Weight loss for sure ! I want to lose 5 more pds but forced diet is no fun.
I am out of Kombucha Di. I bought two cases and they were gone in two weeks !
Day 16 : 15 min Jog and 30 min weight training. Sauna for 20 min.

Sorry you arre not feeling well RF...any better? I have kombucha coming out my ears! I ordered the cultures and they have multiplied! We have a system now and I can make several (ok 3) per week. We bottle and brew on the weekends and are having fun adding different fruit flavors each time. Ours is just as good if not better than the Synergy brand! Hey, if we get together soon I will bring you some! and a culture to start your own! My kids want "their own" so they can experiment. That's great except all thes jars growing cultures make my kitchen look like a science lab!!! We'll see if they "grow" and I'll keep you posted! This week's flavor-pineapple! Mmmmm, can't wait to try them NEXT week. Kayla and I went shopping EARLY this a.m. and all day,,,,so THAT was my workout-tougher than a marathon I think!!!! and now the WRAPPING!!!!!

I ordered the Kombucha Concentrate and wait for it to arrive. I know I will need to mix it with something to thin it out. Maybe you can give me suggestions. I like the Berry Knombucha.
I do not have time to make my own right now. I have wine in the hopper right now. Maybe after the wine is bottled.

Hey Everyone!
I'm so proud of you guys; I just had a chance to read up on some of your posts. I proud of all you who are commited to posting despite life's constant pressures and the day to day struggles.
We still have the same weather here...except the rain and freezing ice is now snow. I've been literally snowed in for two days. I'm such a scaredy cat when it comes to driving and is doesn't help that the neighborhood that I moved to is on a steep and winding hill. I can't even get out of the parking lot. Oh well, I finally had time to really sit and be still....
Morn - I'm so happy for you. You inspired me to keep going instead of freaking out about how my body is changing so much- I still haven't mentally accepted all the changes. I guess I was used to being fat for so long that I feel sorta uncomfortable being slimmer - weird but I know it's all a part of the process and will make me muc hstronger in the end.
Okay, I'm yapping too much...I know...just checking on everone...I think I may start up a blog again (took a break from the last one)
Keep RAWKING it...
Sunday is rest day for me---no exercises other than simple stretches
NFRacer - I am doing ok. I am a little stressed at the idea of thinking my husband might be unemployed for a long time. I am trying to brace mentally for it. I can't support us on what I make so we really need him to find work pretty quick. Within a few months would be ideal. Unfortunately we have been down this road a few times in the past and we have went for very long stretches at a time (once it was for a whole year with him not working) and with the economy being the way it is here in Michigan I don't anticipate him finding work any time soon. I am not trying to be negative - it just seems that is what God has allowed in the past and its not a lot of fun.
Now for me this will be pretty all consuming. I tend to be a worry wart so I know this isn't good. It is pretty stupid for me to be this way since I know God is Faithful and will meet our needs. I am just being real with where I am at cause you asked. Probably TMI.
Lavender J - yeah we got slammed with a ton of snow here in Michigan too. It took my husband 2 hours to dig out our driveway, etc. this morning. Tomorrow school is canceled and everyone will be home except me cause I have to work. I just hope we don't get any more snow tonight!

Thanks.

35 minutes elliptical machine
10 minutes stationary bike

I know this has nothing to do with exercise but I wanted to share with you all my blessing today.
Since my DH was laid off I was trying to figure out ways to cut back financially. I have my kids in a Christian private school and it costs a pretty penny to send them every month ($850.00 for two kids a month). One daughter is in Kindergarten so I asked the finance person what would I save if I pulled her out of all day kindergarten and put her to half time. She told me I would save $130.00 a month. I ended up talking with the principal and she told me she thought my daughter should stay in for a full day and said there was a scholarship fund for people who have situations pop up like the one I am in. I filled out some paperwork and within a day they approved me to receive a $600.00 gift and that will be applied to my tuition lowering the remaining 5 payments to $700.00 a month (which is still a big nut to crack on unemployment but definately much better). I was blown away by God's unmerited favor in this situation and really feel blessed. Anyway just wanted to share my Good news and God moment with you all. Sometimes we share the bad but never get around to sharing the good. God is Good!:)

I am working out as hard as ever, just busier than usual....Hmmmm, wonder why? ;) I'll have a bit more time in a few days...Today is my "Christmas tea" with my students coming over to decorate cookies for Santa....and then my parents for our "dinner" and gift exchange.....so as I sit here not really motivated to run 15 miles when I have so much to do I look around at my messy house and think I may power clean while everyone is sleeping and shoot for the long run tomorrow.....Hmmmmm, I want a maid!!!!
I WILL start a new thread NEXT WEEK for January....Meanwhile, I would love to hear from EVERYONE who signed up for December....I know it's a busy time but hope everyone managed to find time for themselves! Have a stress free week end!!!!!!!!!!!!!....yeah, right! Here's to wishful thinking!
Di yeah we will probably have a huge thread here in January as people make new resolves for the new year. I remember this time around last year there were only a few of us lonely souls. I have a new accountability partner that I am going to recommend her blogging with us daily.

I hope everyone had a peaceful happy Christmas! I know our "gang" made out like bandits! We figured it was one of the "last years" the magical Santa would come + one of the last years all 5 kids would be living at home :( so we out did ourselves....now, the morning after I look around at the M*E*S*S! and think I may need to run OUTSIDE just to escape the chaos for awhile when they start waking up....which is now I think...I planned on getting up at my chipper 3 a.m. time but must be my subconcious did not agree since I turned off my alarm!!! But hey, I'm on vacation!!! I will start a January thread at the end of the week so we can all jumpstart our 2008! It seems as though our December thread sort of fizzled but it is a very busy month so we'll let it slide just this once! At this time I think we should all think of 2007 and post our fitness reflections in the hopes to "re-inspire" ourselves and maybe others.
Personally, 2007 had me filled with high hopes that had to be routinely re-adjusted....but that's ok, I learned a lot just from having to do that! With a "Type A" personality I tend to expect perfection and become obsessively competitive with myself (both a blessing and a curse!). I thought in 2007 I would be back on my A running game....but I incurred many minor injuries + surgery! and setbacks that forced me to adjust my goals. Lesson learned? Yes, it's ok to do what you can which sometimes is NOTHING at all! My goal of 2,700 miles was changed to 2,007 miles when I knew I had to take the hiatus. And now I have surpassed it so I feel good!
What about you? Did you meet, surpass, change your fitness goals in 2007? I know some of you are inspirational in your fitness 2007 (ahem, Morn!) stories so please share with us how far you've come and maybe you will inspire someone else!

I must say that everyone has been inspirational to me. I am determined to get more of a routine going. This month has been full of many surprises (been under a lot of stress, pressure and deadlines). I'm trying to get out of this negative state of mind because that could only hinder me at this point. Even my fasting isn't what it usually is.
Although I didn't meet my goals I am determined to push onward.
Just FYI in case anyone wants a quick way to wake and warm the body up on these cold winter mornings:

Good Morning!
I just wanted to share another fitness link I came across in the midst of thinking ahead for January and my schedule and priorities. This is a website that provides the opportunity to workout out at home. It does cost (can pay weekly, monthly, one a three, six month or yearly basis). I can't afford it at this time but I think this is a website for me to keep in mind. It seems to offer a great deal of variety as far as the type of workouts that are available. I think this would be a great gift idea. I hope you don't mind me posting. I thought this site was worth posting and I'm always looking for options.

I have a 30 day work out designed for Home. My ex trainer emailed it too me when I told her I was abit out of the weight training loop this year. I did it in Dec and maybe again in Jan, adding more cardio. It is pretty basic & you can do it at Beginner/Interm/Advanced.
If you want to check it out email me @ twinee1@hotmail.com
Sorry I have been MIA - There was Christmas, then the day after I had to work a long day and today I had a wedding to go to and now we (my husband and I are off to date night) - me watching him do Karaoke with His theatre friends. Should be interesting. I am happy to report that I have only gained the 5 pounds since being off my fast and have maintained it for the last 3 days through the holiday. - Now NO MORE! I will have to do a fast in the new year some time to lose another 10 pounds so I can maintain the 130 mark. But I am still pretty happy being 135.
Di - I will think of something to post - I need some time to reflect about your question and right now I am in a hurry.

As I reflect back to last year I thought I really didn't DO that much! I mean when I compare myself against some of you really serious minded exercise icons like Di and all the miles you ran etc. I am just a normal every day person just trying to get more fit. But then I thought about it a little more. This is what came to mind. For one thing when I started it took everything within me just to commit to doing any kind of exercise. Being up over 200 pounds it was just so difficult physically as well as I felt extremely stressed for time and was trying to figure out how I was going to fit it into my schedule. Then I heard about coach Di's schedule and family with having 5 kids and thought I am no where near as busy as her so if she could do it so can I. Maybe not every day but at least 3 times a week. So that is what I consistently committed to as my mininum. Sometimes I surpassed that and sometimes I just met my goal. But what I realize now is that what ever you set your mind out to do that I need to just DO it. I set goals I guess I thought I could reasonably meet - but to be honest with you for ME those goals as easy as it seems to others were not so easy for me. I had gotten out of any kind of regular exercise routine and hadn't exercised consistently in years so for me it was hard and it was a slow road back to health and being fit. I spent most of my adult married life (15 years) being over 200+ pounds and had given up hope to being thin again. Also for me it is hard to mentally overcome the idea of exercising but I always feel good after I am done. It is a real daily mental battle though. But with consistent exercise and eating right and over a years's time my body started to respond. I am now down 81 1/4 inches off of my body and 95 pounds off since I started eating raw and exercing.
I also chose for this past year to try some new fitness things like rebounding and now love it! I chose to mix up my routine sometimes working out at the gym on machines like the stairmaster which was also new for me - sometimes an aerobics class, swimming, stepping, pilates, yoga, rollerblading, taebo, etc. Now I like to do it all.
So if I can inspire anyone I want to say this "take small steps, set reasonable, obtainable goals and thirdly be consistent and accountable." Being a part of this thread has made all the difference in helping keep me on track. When I think about "not" exercising I think but I have to or else I will have nothing to report back to my friends with. I don't want to let myself down or others! So I thank you all and an even bigger thank you to Di cause she took me under her wing and didn't accept excuses from me in the beginning. You definately have the right balance to be a good coach!:)
Sorry this was so long but I couldn't answer that in a simple statement.

I am working on the same thing. I still have an area in my lower stomach that has gotten a lot smaller but is still there. I don't know if it is extra skin from losing all the weight or still a pocket of fat. Even still I figure I will give it another year to see if I can get rid of it on my own by natural measures such as exercise, etc. But I tell you every 5 pounds I have lost does make a difference. I just don't know if I will ever have a completely flat stomach again. I have also had 2 C-Sections as well so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I am humbled by your appreciations and honored to be a "coach" to equally inspiring people. I really needed the "boost" in confidence you just gave me as for reasons I'd rather not post. I guess just as my words/actions inspire without my knowledge you can rest assured your's do as well. I find your stories to be equally as inspirational as mine. Morn, do you know my entire FAMILY knows who you are because I have shown them the progressive pictures from your weight loss?:) You are also the one that brought me "back to raw" when I strayed and lurked in the shadows! Lavendarj-you inspired me when you were bound and determined to keep plugging along when you lost power there for awhile and had so many life changes....RawFigure, it goes without saying-you the body builder!!!!:p Our conversations help so much in a world where you guys are basically the only ones I know "like me". So, as I reflect, I look forward to 2008 with confidence as a proud Raw foodist not one that just sits back embarrassed by my lifestyle (come on, we've all been that outnumbered one right?) I will educate others in 2008 without being condescending, just knowledgeable!
OK, this part is long but I need to share....I am on the "cusp" of a new venture. It seems as though my local HFS has had many people asking about RF, etc... and since I am in there so much "supporting the local economy!" they thought of me and talked about me, etc....So....long story short I am TEACHING a seminar there on 1/6/08!!! Excited at first, I am slightly nervous....not sure of what to expect. So, your appreciative words are helping me have the confidence to move forward with this. I wish you all lived closer and could come to it!!!! I am not even sure if anyone is signed up yet but it's a week away and I am trying to "plan" the 2 hour seminar and "sampling menu".....After scanning my 5-8 rf books I am overwhelmed with what to prepare because I am so simplistic. I am a 5 ingredient or less type person so I think that will be my theme....I know this is off thread topic but if anyone has any good ideas please let me know! One of my dreams is to own/operate a wellness center with like minded people and be the fitness and nutrition consultant! I guess this is the first step... gulp....am I ready????

you are the running expert here...i would like to do a half-marathon...though honestly, the training routine i created for myself is going to be strictly inside...so am i going to be in for a real shocker if i try to do a half marathon outside without much training outside....

I ran outside yesterday. It was 38 but the wind felt very cold. Ran for 45 min..

When and where is the (half) marathon? It can be done! I have trained inside before,,,,well, actually that's what I have to do for the most part. The only times I can get outside are school vacations and Saturdays (weather permitting!) . As long as you can get out there once in awhile and maybe once a week for your "long run" as it gets closer you'll do it!;)
