So what do all of you say when someone graciously invites to their house for dinner - not knowing you are raw?

I always thank them and accept. I then explain that because of a special diet I will be bringing my own food but for them not to worry as I am comming for the great company. I try not to make a big deal out of it.
If I am feeling like going the extra mile I ask what they are planning on serving and try to bring a raw version.

Like EPPP, I tell the person that I'm really happy to be coming and that I'm on a special diet for health reasons and is it okay if I contribute to the dinner by bringing XYZ.
It's always worked for me because a) who can argue with someone on a "spcecial" diet and b) it opens up the ground for alot of respectful questions
I've found over the the past few years that a gentle entry with people works so much better for me. Let us know how you approach it.
Best, Alicia

Exactly as Eachpeachpearplum said. You accept...and say, "I'm eating a special diet of fresh, fruits and vegetables for the indefinite future.....can you just make me up a fruit plate and a salad?"
-You can then ask if your host would like you to bring something. LOL. They will usually say "No."....and then make what you requested! Ha! ha!
-In any event...tell them it's no big deal either way...as you are there to see THEM. :) It's all good.
