A baby with Type 1 Diabetes? I've never heard of this. I hope that they look for more options then just the insulin shots.

Type 1 diabetes is most commonly seen in babies and children, or young adults. Its thought to have genetic backing. Its not like type 2 diabetes (mostly in much older adults) which is caused mostly by obesity and disgusting foods and can often be easily be cured, type 1s produce no insulin whatsoever so generally the shots must be used
Its very sad
What is scary is that TYPE 2 is now being seen in kids, from going to fast food restaurants every day

Wow that is sad that kids are getting Type 2. Most kids these days are overweight. It's sad to see so many kids that are 5 years old and 120+ pounds.

RainBows covered it well.......Type 1 is considered a Virus. I know Twin Girls, one contracted it at 8 yrs, they are 16 now and the other one is still unaffected. She took better care of herself when she was younger.......but now she is a TEENAGER and she is pulling her hair out and her Mother's.

So basically there is nothing that can help someone with this problem it's just there and only medicine can fix it? Hmm I'd like to think that is not true but maybe it is. I don't know everything but I hope there are alternatives to using chemicals.

my mom has had type on for 49 years. She was dx'd at age 9 and is 58 now. I have *heard* that you can cure it with raw (thinking serge boutenko here?) but personally, I wouldn't take the gamble with a baby. maybe when the child was older and could explain what he/she was feeling re: ill/well. just my 2 cents.

A few years ago I had a neighbor couple that had a very young baby and they basically fed the baby sugar water in a baby bottle for most of its nutrition. At the time I thought this was a bad idea. Is it common practice for people to feed babies sugar water ?
