Hi all.

I have a question: do you take a daily multivitamin? Is it really necessary?

I've always taken them all my life, but now I'm wondering if I might be doing more harm than good. They probably have lots of artificial stuff in them, right? I know a B6 (or B12?--I forget) supplement is necessary, but other than that?

And I sure could use the extra, saved money to buy more raw produce instead!

Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

NO, because they can be very toxic.

I do take Vitamineral Green, which is a green food, super food and whole food with lots of great stuff in it.

You can read about Vitamineral Green here:

I used to - but recently stopped taking them.
I figure that our body requires everything in the right ratios - so I'm not sure how much good it is to dose heavily on particular vitamins. Too much of anything isn't really a good thing right?
So far I'm feeling fine.
In regards to B12 - I'm not washing my veg - lettuce with a bit of dirt on it should do me fine!

I stopped taking them after I fully transitioned...as they made me ill. No supplements for many, many years now. I think it depends on how robust and clean the digestive system is - and what the person's lifestyle is.

Well...I still take a Vit C, but I'm not sure I need it, considering the amount of Vit c I'm getting in my food, and I still take B-12 b/c I'm vegan and I don't eat alot of good, organic dirt (:D ). I take a multi, too.

I aspire to give them up. I will say I was sort of shaken up by my skin craziness and confusion about whether I was lacking vit D, or EFA's, or whether it was detox....so I'm transitioning in my attitude toward supplements, I guess. I'm also going through an extremely stressful time right now and they still feel like xtra "insurance"--an idea I'm not ready to abandon.

Thanks for replying everyone. For those of you who gave up synthetic multivitamins: is there anything specific you noticed? How did you feel?

I'm really curious and need a bit of motivation. Thanks in advance!

I only take enzymes, probiotics and an occasional b-12 injection. I hope to give up th enzymes and probiotics in the near future after I am more balanced.

Right now I am taking New Chapter, which are supposed to be 'food grade' vitamins.

Long term, I'm not sure where I will end up.
