Hello,
So today is our daughters 3rd birthday. For a couple weeks now she has been talking about how she wants a chocolate cake. I mean, never ending, non-stop, two year old chatter about a chocolate cake. My mother asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she said "a chocolate cake" I asked her what she wanted for supper for her birthday meal and she said "a chocolate cake" What do you want for your presents? "a chocolate cake" You get it. So I made her one. This was a SAD cake. (My family is not raw, we are working on it but I am the only one 100%, and I don't have any raw cocoa or carob). I kept thinking in the back of my mind that I really should just make her a raw cake but she was so insistent about that "chocolate cake" that I just couldn't do it.
So, we had supper. I serve the cake. She doesn't eat even half of her piece! "I don't want the cake" she says.
My 7 year old didn't eat the cake either, said he didn't like it. My 6 year old complained that the frosting was too sweet and scraped it all off. My 4 year old said he didn't like the cake and pushed it away.
Now, here is the kicker. Last night I made myself a raw cake so that I would have something to treat myself to. I gave all the children a piece of it last night. They all ate it all up and thanked me, I repeat THANKED ME, for making the cake and giving it to them. They loved it!
My 10 year old daughter said that while she liked the SAD cake she thought the raw one was better and fresher tasting.
How cool is that?
