As long as it has temp control you should be O.k. Good luck! :D

What if you keep it on a 3rd to 5th rack? I have herd people talk about using an oven . To me that is more risky . What Do you think?

I can't say I'd use the oven. Mine will not even go down low enough to use for dehydrating purposes. I've also heard that it is dangerous to use the oven for such an extended period of time....I've kept things in the dehydrator for 18 hours ~ can't say I'd ever do that with an oven. Maybe someone else has? Hope you find some answers.

I tried the oven, but mine wouldn't get low enough, even with the door cracked. I could tell it was too hot when I handled the food.

I got a Nesco round dehydrator at WalMart for just under $40 (on sale) with a temp control. You can get it at WalMart.com and have it shipped to your closest WalMart with no shipping. Just be certain it has a temp control or it will cook your food. Here's mine: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1120727
