Hi everyone,
i know it has been asked before many times whether the raw food diet has lead to eye colour changes but, i was wondering if for those whose eye's did change, if they could post before and after pictures. also, if pictures are not available, can you please just describe the change.
i would greatly appreciate the info since i am a university student in Canada and would like to research this further for my 4th year thesis.
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip but, unfortunately, i still haven't been able to find anything concrete. so, i would appreciate if people can post pictures, or better describe their experiences, if they have undergone this change.
Thanks! :)

I too would love to see before and after pictures. There doesn't seem to be any in the threads I've searched in.
I've noticed a 'brightening' of my eyes, from hazel with green flecks to more green and 'glowing'. But I'm not 100% raw and have not done 100% raw over long enough periods of time (a year, more?), to notice any full effects if there are.

Good question. I guess mine are clearer and more blue than slaty color so the blue now seems a clearer blue--if that makes sense. Funny, but occasionally my eyes seem to look green (maybe a reflection from certain clothes I'm wearing?). Like klomasius, my eyes definately have a lot more sparkle.
Will be interesting to see what others have experienced.

I am dark brown eyes girl. My eyesite improved dramatically when i went raw for the first time and close friend of mine told me that my eyes become lighter in color. But i ignored it comepletely because eyes are changing colors in different light and age , so i didn't pay attention.
I will make pictures of my irises and see what will happen, but i believe that change can be suble yet noticeable to others in nature rather than on photo.

Aside from the whites of my eyes getting whiter - and perhaps my eyes appearing more sparkely.... I have black eyes... VERY VERY DARK EYES - so dark its very difficult to see the pupil in there.
I don't see them getting any lighter brown .. my blood line is prone to very dark eyes... Hawaiian, African, Puerto Rican blood !!
would be so nice though -- to wake up one morning and find that I have sea green eyes... ahhhh my dream come true! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/happy115.gif ... I'm sure that would totally freak out my dh! I tried on some very cool contacts once.... dh said I didn't look like me -- I looked weird and creepy ... like some kind of vampire with glowing eyes  ! (okay - not good... so - no contacts - lol!!!)

I will have to dig up some pictures of me when I was a child. My eyes from birth until about age 14 were bluer than blue.
Since then they have been green.
This is a picture taken of me March 2007 on our Caribbean cruise. Sorry for the sunburnt face and looking tired!!!! But as you can see, my iris is actually outlined in blue. Many Optomotrists have said they are a combination of blue and purple. I can't see that with my naked eye.

And here is one of me two years ago at my wedding. Very green eyes.
Note: I just wanted to add that these photos are in no way "Photoshop" edited or any other editing program. That's the way they look today.

Hi everyone! I'm very knew to this and haven't quite started going raw but want to. I don't really know where to start so if you could give me some tips I'd be so grateful. Back to the question, What makes the eyes change color on the raw food diet?
Thank You!

thanks everyone for the comments!
rawgreenyogini: it does seem like a blue rim is beginning to develop. but, it's a little hard to tell for sure.
btw, your wedding photo is lovely!...indian theme?
tealover: my hypothesis is that the large amounts of digestive enzymes that are consumed in the raw food diet may alter the melanin production in the iris. i'm currently working on a more focused thesis and will let you know what i come up with.

StarFire, how long have you been raw? and, what percent raw are you, i.e. 90% of diet is raw?

First image is before raw. Second two are after raw. Before I had very flat, dull colored eyes. Now they are brighter and deeper-looking. I still have hazel eyes, though. These images haven't been photoshoped in any way.
