My rebounder came last Friday , one week early
I LOVE IT!
I have to use the bar as I have neuropothy in my feet ,so have poor balance.
The mat on mine is 5 inches wider and it gives me confidence.
I am proud to say I can now do the warm up with out holding on if I am careful.
I did the beginner work out followed by abs on Saturday and Sunday oche lol my abs were so sore...I love it hehe.
So I am a happy camper. My ankles didnt swell and my knees were fine so I was pleased.
What a workout!!!!:D

on getting your rebounder and starting to bounce. I like the rebounder for the lymph system workout it provides. Happy bouncing :)

Just got mine from my cousin who sold it to me for 50 bucks-- the urban rebounder..
did the first timer program and the abs -- oy vey! I am so sore and out of shape.. or is it just me??
I jog on mine also while watching the news, weather, almost anything that requires some previous sedentary posture... except for knitting... lol!
Hope that helps -- Boing Boing Boing!
I'm gonna take a rebound pic too -- that was really cool!

Welcome to the rebouders club! What kind did you get?
Hello all
I bought the
I rebounder and I love it Ill post some info :)
Yes you can jog
you don't bounce on it that will give you sore joints , you press DOWN in to it rather than bouncing up. The technique is very important lol
I bought the " I Rebound."
NASA STANDARD TRAINING FOR ASTRONAUTS
DIRECT FROM OUR FACTORY
45" Extra Large Soft Jump Rebounder TWO FOLDING featuring 24% more room for comfort and safety. The sturdy steel frame is 0.99" x 0.99" x 0.05" square section tubing is supported by 8 super strong legs (most rebounder's in the market have only 6 legs and are only 40")
MARKET VALUE $300.00+
Our iREBOUND is completed with a Mat which holds to the frame with 36 extra long springs of 0.75" x 3.35" long supporting 300 pounds of dynamic activity.
I found it new on e-bay for $89.00. ( Retails for over $300)
It is 45 inches in diameter with 8 slightly longer legs and the same spring system as the others.
I wanted to try one before investing hundreds cos I just bought the Vitamix and my dehydrator lol
Well I love it lol worth the huge hehe price I paid.. I have to stop all exercise because I have a problem with my si joint ( sacro illicac) while I have physio. I am allowed to rebound thank good ness as this doesn't hurt at all

I really want a rebounder also. I have been trying to compare a few of them. Has anyone heard of The Bellicon ULTIMATE bungee rebounders. They are supposed to be very easy on the back and knees. I have bad knees...but I would love to try this workout. I also have Osteoporosis & they say rebounding is excellent for this disease. This one is also 44" in diameter which I like.

What is the difference between a rebounder and a mini trampoline? Why is it not just called a mini trampoline?
I bought a mini trampoline from Big 5 Sporting Goods for about $35 a few years ago, but I had no idea it was a real actual exercise piece.
What sort of routines can you do with the trampoline? I usually bounce on it for fun every now and then for about 2 minutes and it gets my heart rate up, but it isnt very exciting. I've tried looking for videos but I havent found any that you can buy separately from the actual trampoline.

I think there was a similar thread on here not too long ago. There is a REAL, SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE between the cheap, Asian-made mini-trampolines that are sold at Sears and at K-Mart and the USA-made rebounder that I use, the Needak. The cheap mini-rebounders do NOT have a soft-bounce mat, they stand only 4-6 inches off the ground, and they do not have the necessary 4-inch long springs to give you proper depth in your bounce. For those reasons, you cannot do proper rebounding on a cheap mini-trampoline, and in fact you can hurt your ankles, knees or back. (I know people who have been injured on the cheaply made rebounders.)
The tremendous value of rebounding, from my point of view, is that it exercises the lymphatic system like no other exercise can, except that of jumping rope. (But with rebounding there is far less impact on the joints than there is with jumping rope.)
The lymphatic fluid travels through the body via a system of what can be likened to "one-way straws", connected by valves, and each jump up-and-down on the rebounder moves the lymph along, causing it to travel through the body as much as 15 to 30 times as efficiently as when the body is at rest. But what is even better than that is that rebounding can cause a state of non-disease-induced neutrophillia, which is an increase in the number of white cells circulating through the body, particularly neutrophils, which are one of the types of white cells most responsible for destroying cancer cells.
While gentle bouncing may possibly cause a slight increase in neutrophils, and jogging a little more, by sprinting in place for just one minute on the rebounder you can cause your neutrophil count to as much as double what it normally is and to remain at that level for about an hour! (based on Dr. Arthur C. Guyton's "Textbook of Medical Physiology," Fifth Edition, Page 74, Paragraph 5). Most middle-aged adults who tried to sprint in place on anything but a rebounder would soon end up with shin splints or some foot, ankle or knee injury.
Rebounding looks very simple, and it is. It consists of gentle bouncing on a special mini-trampoline. When you do what's called the "health bounce," your feet don't even leave the mat. If you wish, you can of course jump higher than that. Also, if you wish, you can jog or run in place. The well-made rebounder stands about 9 inches off the ground, and has a special "soft-bounce" mat attached to the frame with 4" long springs, the total surface diameter being 40".
If you have any questions about getting one at less than retail price, as we did, please feel free to PM me.

Have you ever heard of the Bellicon Bungee Rebounders? You are so knowledgeable on this subject. I have heard only great things about this one.
Thanks for all the info.

Hi Eilene,
I'm sorry but I don't know anyone personally that has a Bellicon. From what I've read about them, they are very well made and have a deep, good bounce. It has bungee bands rather than springs, which give it the deep bounce. It appears that the strength of the bungee bands can be ordered according to the weight of the user. From what I know, they retail for around $600. I believe it's a great rebounder, if you don't mind the high price. Sorry I can't be of more help from personal experience.

What is the difference between a rebounder and a mini trampoline? Why is it not just called a mini trampoline?
On the British show You Are What You Eat with Gillian MacKeith they call it a Trampet, I love that :)
Look at this link How to Recognize a Quality Rebounder (http://www.qibounding.com/1747578.htm) It shows the diferent types of springs and the bungee bands too and says that the bungee bands:
"Prevent injury to your spine/lower back: On low quality rebounders your body may suffer more harm than good. This is because low quality rebounders, with inferior springs and mats, will not bounce back in a uniformly elastic way and instead may shock your lower back. "

I received my Bellicon Bungee rebounder yesterday. It is a really pretty piece of equipment. It is all black (even the bungee bands) with a hot pink band about 2 inches wide surrounding the outer perimeter of the mat.
Anyway enough about looks...I bounced 12 min. yesterday. It was very different because of balance, I'm not used to jumping up and down (little dizzy when I got off) I even did the small bouncing for a few min in the beginning. I really do like it though.
Today...I bounced 20 min. I can't believe I lasted that long. I put on my Ipod Shuffle and bounced to music. Fun, fun, fun! It was all ready much better than yesterday, though it will take some time to improve on the balance thing. I also have bad knees, so I'm trying to be really careful on it. I decided I am going to bounce every day...even if it is for only 10 min. Overall...I LOVE it so far!!! Is anyone bouncing out there still?

I've tried looking for videos but I havent found any that you can buy separately from the actual trampoline.
I have two DVD's by Blanche Black. One is called "Bouncin in the House" and the other is called "The Smart Bounce." "Bouncin in the House is for Beginners and "The Smart Bounce," is more intermediate. I have found her DVD's to be quite good. Her website is: www.blancheblackfitness.com
for those that may be interested.
Blessings and peace,

I just ordered a rebounder. My mom and I are pumped! :)

ohhhh...it is so exciting. Enjoy your new rebounder!
This is my second day of rebounding. I did 12 min. yesterday. Today I did 20 min. in the afternoon and than in the early evening, I did another 12 min. I feel so energized right now. I swear that my body all ready FEELS tighter...if that is possible. I hope it looks it soon. I never work out legs (except for Yoga & walking...no weights...bad knees)...but the Daily Bounce so far has been kind to me. :-)
I'm addicted!

well---- i got a rebounder for christmas! lol.
its not a huge pricey one-- i think it was somewhere from 50-100$,
i believe its called the "jogger", haha.
this should work just fine, right?
i read somewhere that a cheaper tramp can do more harm than good
 but i cant afford a pricey one, nor can the 'rents,
and id like to start bouncing :)

Start bouncing. You'll read eating raw is bad for you yet people all over the world are doing it and finding healing. People have been using less expensive rebounders for YEARS and receiving results.

Yay!!! So you got what you wanted... I'm sure it's going to be great. I can't wait to get mine, but I guess I have to because UPS tells me it won't be until January 4... :( So, you all will have to enjoy your rebounders extra for me until then!! ;)

Congrats on your new rebounder aililiu!! Very cool!!
I have now bounced 7 days straight. I have been doing 15 min. since it is my first week. Even if that is all I do at a time, I'm happy. My back & knees hurt a little...but I'm going to keep it up. I know I'll get more used to it & my balance is all ready getting better (I didn't have to buy the holding bar) I'm not getting sharp pain in my knees which I thought I would get! Woohoo!! I LOVE it!

Yashira,
Rebounding is awesome espeically in the winter. as for your neuropathy in your feet. Check out this website egoscue.com
Nueuropathy is a postural issue and you have some muscle imbalance. It is easy to return to your correct muscle balance. Get the book Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. Remember that Neuropathy is not a disease, but just a condition as a result of a muscle imbalance. The body is a unit and is organic and does respond to muscle re-training. Good luck!!

Hi my interest was peeked by this post specifically "neuropothy is not a disease"
I have peripheral neuropothy as a result of NERVE damage due to chemotherapy, nothing to do with muscle imbalance. bIthad improved somewhat in the past 10 years but I still have no kinesthetic awareness in my feet or sensation.
I will check this website out with interest lol
Happy New Year too:)

OK, I recently purchased a rebounder (OK, a mini trampouline in my case) but I have noticed a strange problem.
When I jump, I hear and feel a painful cracking sound inside my head in the brain area and also get an uncomfortable sensation in what I think is my diaphragm. It feels similar to what I feel constantly when I have a bout of pleuritis. These sensations are both activated by the motion of jumping. Both sensations are uncomfortable enough for me that I can't get past 5 jumps.
Any ideas or thoughts? If I make an appt. with my doctor for this I will be lucky to be seen before October.

Where and who did you go through to get your Bellicon Bungee? I'm looking into buying one and I'm looking for some retailer recommendations. Thanks in advance.
