View Full Version : My new kick

My new discovery today: my co-worker brought in homegrown cherry tomatoes and I honestly have never really been too excited about these, but when something is homegrown one must figure out a way. So they sat there for a couple days. Today I sprinkled a little sea salt crystal and it was absolutely delicous, yet so simple. I don't like to mix tomatoes with my avocados for some reason, but for dinner tonite, separately, again, I ate the tomatoes with sea salt crystal, olive oil and avocado with salt, olive oil and lemon. Something else I have noticed is that raw is always very satisfying to the palette and during Thanksgiving I was trying to find something that would satisfy me as well as raw does and I could not. As of late I have noticed that I am really into eating simply. Don't know exactly why, but I like it. How do you like to eat your tomatoes?

I adore tomatoes!!! They are one of my favorite things ever (always have been)!
The little cherry or grape tomotoes I just like to pop in my mouth and eat them whole. The bigger vine ripened tomatoes I like a tiny bit of sea salt sprinkled on them (either cut up, or sprinkling a little on as I eat it like an apple - lol). I also like them cut up in a bowl with a little lemon juice and pepper. Yummy! I'm not a fan of oil on my 'maters, though.

just for the heck of it I am going to try that right now...lemon juice and pepper so I can remember to eat it again. Thankx.

The monkeyboy responds.
I'd consider myself a mono eater....meaning I just eat one type of food at a time. I'm not really into prepping so much food, or combining 5 or 6 things together.
There's nothing better than to sit quitely with some tomatoes and really "savor the flavor".( I think I just came up with another catch phrase)
With all the rushing around we do, it's the one part of my day to reflect and eat right.
I suggest a book called "One Bowl". Though not a raw book it hits on some of my points.
Remember" Eat from the Earth, not from a box"

I like mine with just salt and pepper. I also like to make a salad of iceberg lettuce (the only way I will eat it), tomato wedges, and raw mayo with s & p. It's a really simple salad my Granny used to make and I just really want it now and then...

Hey Amberstorm, your salad sounds delicious. What is your 'raw mayo' recipe? I want to make it this week. Use to have an addiction to mayo and have not thought about making it raw. Thankx.
I like to snack on them by themselves. I love cherry tomatoes!
