Can someone please tell me why I shouldn't use normal toothpaste, mouth wash etc? I know I shouldn't but then there is the all the stories I've been told when growing up about how our teeth need fluoride etc. I don't want to put those chemicals in my body anymore I just need someone to reassure me my teeth aren't going to fall apart!:p

Fluoride CAN cause your teeth to fall apart--therefore, get rid of the fluoride, get rid of crumbly teeth! hehe
I haven't used commercial toothpaste in about 2 years and my teeth are fine :) I use a natural toothpaste or baking soda

In a word, fluoride is crap. It's nasty, terrible, terrible stuff. Keep awayyy. And as for the toothpastes and what not, those ingredients in it are barely pronounceable, not recognisable. You'd have to look them up individually to find out exactly what they are.

Glycerin is also bad for teeth - something to do with the de-mineralizing the enamel.
Maybe someone else can back this up with more detail.
Either way, be very careful when you read your labels :)

I use toothpaste. I don't use a fluoride paste every day. Just a few times a week. I no longer use mouthwash. I did when I smoked. It doesn't really do much for you. Just provides a feeling of temporary freshness and the alcohol it contains dries out your mouth.
