View Full Version : Recipes that replace nuts with seeds?

Sorry, I should've put this question in my other post.
I don't like nuts. As you know, a lot of the raw recipes contain nuts. They taste ok, but a lot of them make me gag (sorry, gross, but they really do!). Does anyone have some good seed recipes? Since I'm new to raw, I really need something SAD like to incorporate into all the fruits and veggies I'm eating.
Any recipes would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I can't speak for every recipe, but in my raw un-cook books, you can certainly replace the almonds with sunflower seeds, brazil nuts with pumpkin seeds, these work well, and have about the same taste and consistancy.
Actually, all nuts are seeds, so there really is no difference, they just taste different, and have different consistancies.

One can substitute all the nut recipes with seeds. Sunflower seeds especially. AND if you are substituting for almonds, instead of soaking 12 hours, only 6 hours are needed. Much faster.

Plus, seeds are easier on the wallet. They are like the dried beans of raw food!

I didn't know that either. That's great!
Thanks again for the info!

So, if I substitute with sunflower seeds, do I need to soak them first? If so, for how long?
Thanks!
