Hi there! I'm new to this board, but not raw. I've speant the past two days reading all 48-50 pages and posts, you all seem great!

I've done it off and on the past year. The longest I've done consistantly is 20 days breaking on 21. Today is...day 20 again! Three weeks has gone by very quickly. Anyway, I have many points and questions to put out there to you all, so please bear with me :) I'm not sure what order I should write in, so I may just ramble...

1) I had many health problems I'm dealing with or have gone through. When I was born (premi by 3.5 months) I was very ill and developed digestive problems because of it. I grew up on what "I" thougt was the SAD, but definitely not. I never had fats, sugars, or oils because they wouldn't work with my system. I never LIKED the taste of what I call "american food" (burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, icecream, pizza, candy, ect.) so I guess I was the most healthy of my peers. Anyway, down the road my digestion got better and I started eating a few treats. All during this i was in intense gymnastics so weight-wise I was fine. Then I had to quite for a few reasons and ballooned up. That triggered the beginning of anorexia. I went through that for a long time, and recovered, but the bulimia came on. I've been working on recovery for that since january of this year.

2) Goes with #1. The bulimia came on as a result of emotional reasons, but also food allergies and intolerances that we didn't know of until december. About a year before that I started gaining weight FAST, but was eating all the low-cal/carb/fat foods and restricting again...it made no sense. Then I started binging on what we now see by looking back, all the foods I'm allergic to. Did some research and elliminated those foods, the bulimia began to subside.

Wow, i'm really rambling, but can't get my point across! Ok, the first time I went raw was for the wrong reasons so I fell off the wagon, had a relapse of bluimia, but now I REALLY want to get my life back and i see RAW as the way to go. When I have RAW I can eat a lot more, not feel guilty, have tons of energy, and many more benefits.

3) Goes with #2. The allergies/intolerances were extremely hard to avoid at first before RAW, now it's a piece of cake. The only issues I have are that some are fruits and vegetables (kiwi, strawberries, pineapple, cucumber), all nuts, and all seeds. Those are just my allergies. Also before this I was trying the Right Blood Type thing and (remember...on toxic foods) the "bad lists" matched up with my intolerances, and allergies (avocado, banana, olive, tomato, pepper, cauliflower, citrus). I guess my question is:

After my body goes through detox will I be able to incorporate those foods back in and not have the reactions as before? I read some people say the reactions aren't from THE food, but the reaction with the food in a toxic body. Right now my food options are VERY limited and I'm getting bored.

4) I have seen mental changes that are outstanding within the past three weeks, but I am still a little OCD about planning my meals, but I don't know what to do anymore...suggestions on what to do eat for a day?

5) I have a 3 week vacation to Australia with a People to People group. You can tell them vegetarian or vegan, and add allergies. We said vegan and wrote all allergies. I wasn't raw at the time and feel it'll be too much of a hassal to tell them this now (they pre order the meals and stuff at restraunts before we arrive) because it'll be looked at as weird, dangerous, ect. I REALLY can't end RAW. I know it's something i *MUST* stay on for the rest of my life. Should I just pick at the dishes if it's cooked or skip the meal or what? I'm a little lost on this one...

6) BEFORE RAW: weekly migranes, puffiness, bloated, digestive issues, swelling, insomnia, lethargic, depressed/suicidal, severe OCD, ED thoughts, heavy feeling, oilyish skin, uhh more I suppose, but those are the main ones.

AFTER RAW: no headaches (occasional detox one), puffiness/bloated dissappeared, digestion much better (i don't look like a balloon after one apple), i natrually go to bed 9-10 and fall asleep instantly, stay sound asleep all night, wake up naturally and perky, very good positive moods, positive (at least decent) body image and that's a HUGE step, anxiety mostly gone, light, strong, defenition in muscles, baby soft skin - feels like i have baby powder on, stronger hair, whiter eyes and teeth, memory is much better, ADD is better too. This has only been three weeks, I wonder what else is to come.

Oh, has anyone had or have dyslexia and is RAW helping?

One last thing (sorry this is SO long): my mom has fibromyalgia and eats pretty healthily (fruits, veggies, chicken, fish, and yogurt - all organic), but I know her reactions are with her diet but she won't help herself. I don't want to see her hurting anymore and want to do anything to help. I figure she's addicted because "but i want my yogurt," or "but wheat doesn't affect me like it does you," or "but i just have it here and there (when it's more like every night)." The one thing also that upsets me is she drinks every night 3-4 glasses of dark wine to self medicate as she says. I'm not dumb, she's an alcoholic. Well, would going raw help this? or will going raw help the fibromyalgia, therefore cause the drinking too subside?

Anyone a full fruitarian?

You have a lot of stuff going on here - remember this, you can not change anyone else, but your changes can become a picture for someone else to see, and learn from.

Not from the professional side of my life, but as a lay person - do you have a therpist in your life to help you sort through your feelings?

Are you young? Maintain your respect for your mother, however, in many cases, we become enablers to people we love, try to avoid that behavior as much as possible.

On you people to people you stated that you asked for vegan and allergies, you may have a diet that is raw, through fresh fruit and veggies. I am sure whereever you go, you will have the opportunity to ask for you food not to be cooked, or if cooked, lightly steamed.

You have made accomplishments on raw, and might want to stay that way. As for meal planning - read through the journals - people generally list what they eat and if there is a recipe - it may be on the board. Todd is having only fruit and nuts now, so you may want to contact him for information - He is always willing to assist.

Take your time, it does not have to be an all or nothing situation - and be blessed with whatever state you are in right now.
