I just got more recipe books and again 70% of them require young coconut, I only find mature coconut around here. Does anyone from around here know where I can get some or a place I can order some from?
Thanks

Are there any asian markets there at all?

I only checked one, they only had mature coconuts. I'd have to find and check others.
These recipes that need these coconuts look to die for, it's a real torture not having young coconuts, especially since I love mature coconut, I'm sure I'd love young coconut.

I just saw you're in Toronto! Can you find any there? My parents live there, they could bring me some if you tell me where you find them!

Hi
You can get them in china town in Montreal and in most cities =but you will not find them because they are out of season at the moment sorry
I substitute with Raw coconut butter ( oil with fresh coconut in it)

I'm not in Toronto anymore, but I know a gajillion places to get them there! Well, not a gajillion.. but yeah.
You can get them on Spadina in China town for pretty cheap but they don't have too much meat. They are about $1.40 each.
Or you can get them at Whole Foods in Yorkville but they are $2.50 each. The ones at Whole Foods usually have more meat in them though. But $2.50 is still pretty pricey.

I like to use http://www.yellowbook.com/ to help me find stuff. For example type in Asian markets or food stores and then click go.
