I have the 5 tray excaliber with timer.

Brand new. Everything is taking forever to dehydrate.

the thing is, I live in texas. I know what 105 degrees and 115 degrees feels like. and the air in the dehydrator, is not it. it just feels like room temp air.

is your's on?
go stick your hand in there while it's on.
is it hot?
or does it too feel like room temp air?
i'm desperate to know if my brand new expensive dehydrator is broke or not.

please help.
yes it's sometimes humid. which is why it's at 115 right now but still feels the same as 105. room temp

I don't have a dehydrator so I don't know but could you put an oven thermonitor in there to check the temp?

I have the Nesco. When I first turn it on, I can't feel any heat. After it has been on for like...2 hours or so, I can feel the heat.

Try this ~ Start it at 145 for the first two hours of dehydrating. Then, drop it down to 115/118. See how that feels to you.

Part of the reason it may not feel so hot is the fan.

Hello,

Check that the fan is rotating sometimes during the shipping they get off kilter , take something long and gently give it a spin.

The ex dehydrates very quickly as a rule
I I got mine a monthy or so ago.
