I am so excited! I just got my Jack Lalanne Healthmaster 100 and I can't wait to get started! Budget wouldn't allow for the Vitamix but I've heard good things about the Healthmaster. I am so excited to get started tonight with a delicious green smoothie! I'm really excited because my kids are excited as well to have yummy smoothies! Good way for me to "hide" veggies in their drinks!:)

Crystalmoon,
My creations were delicious!!!! For my first smoothie I threw in sweet strawberries, kiwi, pear, and a little celery. I went a little crazy. It was sooo good! Then I made my kids smoothies without the celery. The taste of the celery was so strong - even though I only used 1 stalk that I knew it would turn them off. I am going to try to slip something green into the next smoothies I make for them. I can't wait to make more tonight. I am determined to have a healthy Thankgiving day!:D

Hey, would one of you make almond milk and let me know if it completely creamed the almonds? I tried in a cheap-o blender and couldn't make decent almond milk. If this machine is powerful enough to really pulverize the nuts, I'll get it, and if not, keep saving up for the vita-mix.
thanks!

Stina, I intend to get some almonds when I go back to Whole Foods next week - so I can't experiment with the machine now. BUT the recipe book that comes with the machine does have a recipe for almond butter and other nut butters so I'm hoping it will also really pulverize the almonds enough to make smooth milk.:) I'll let you know.

Hey thanks. I'm sure on a tight budget; it would be nice to know if I could make do with this machine.

I am planning on buying a healthmaster 100. I have the JL elite juicer already. I will not pay that much for a Vita-Mix or Blendtec. I am going to be watching this post to see how everyone likes their 100.

I got my Healthmaster refurbished at a really great price with a 60 day return policy so I figured it was worth a try. So far it's been great. I have made fruit and green smoothies. On Thanksgiving morning and this morning my kids woke me up asking for smoothies instead of their usual sad breakfast. I was so excited! When it was time for lunch today my youngest daughter was only able to eat less than 1/2 of what she would usually have eaten and she wasn't asking for treats all day. What was also fun for her was that the machine is so so simple to use that she has been able to make her own smoothies - supervised of course - she's only 12. I still haven't been able to figure out how to sneak the greens into my kids smoothies yet because they are always watching...but I'm working on it. One thing at a time. I'm actually craving a fresh fruit smoothie right now.....hhhmmmmm.:D

DJ 247, what is the elite juicer? Is that the stainless steel one?
Thanks.

I recently bought a Healthmaster blender and after a few uses the carafe started leaking oil. The front knob eventually popped off, and when I tried to make peanut butter-the motor overheated and it never worked again. I'm still trying to return it and it's like pulling nails.
I then bought a Vitamix and it is well worth the money. It can handle chopping veggies and grains, no problem. I compared the blade bearings on both products, and the Vitamix is far superior-- you get what you pay for.
If you just need a smoothie machine, buy an Oster-- if your going to make soups and more, get a Vitamix-- it's worth the money!

I am so sorry to hear about your problems with the Healthmaster 100. I guess I have been lucky so far. I have been using my Healthmaster 100 almost daily and several times daily now for 9 months with no problems. I am thankful for that because on my very, very, very limited budget I still cannot afford a Vitamix. So I am crossing my fingers that the Healthmaster will continue to serve me well.
