Hi Bethanie
I just thought I'd post you another recipe for an orange date bar. I found it this morning on Facebook. Sorry I can't be more specific.
Orange Date Bars
Crust
2 cups almonds
1.5 cups oat groats
4 tbsp agave
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Put almonds in food processor and process till coarse. Add oats, cinnamon and agave then pulse.
Filling
2 cups pitted dates soaked for 30 minutes
3 tbsp water
Juice of one large orange
Zest of an orange
Zest the orange then juice it.
Soak dates in the orange juice mixed with the 3 tbsp of water for 30mins.
Put soaked dates and orange zest in food processor and process till smooth.
Spread half the crust on bottom, fill with date mixture, crumble the other half of the crust on top.
Dehydrate till warm.
The picture looked really yum!:)

Hi Bethanie,
Wow I was so shocked to open up the recipe page and see my name there! Thank you for the lovely compliment. I pretty much threw the recipe together but I will try to help you out.
Crust:
1/2 cup mac nuts (next time I will use brazil as to me they are more buttery, use whichever nuts suite you)
1 cup pecans
coconut butter
honey
In food processor grind macs into a fine powder, and remove from food processor. Add pecans about 2 Tbsp coconut butter and 2 Tbsp honey to processor and process until it is a dough like. Add in mac powder and process again until combined. Place a sheet of wax paper onto bottom of a small mini bread pan (This is what I used, you could use any small dish though). Spread a little more than half of mixture unto the bottom and press down.
Filling
about 8 dates
water
vanilla
cinnamon
process the dates adding in anough water to make a smooth spreadable consistency, you can also add in a little vanilla if you desire and cinnamon.
Spread over the bottom crust, then crumble the remaining dough mixture over the date spread and press down gently. Cover and refridgerate.
Enjoy!
Thank so much for the lovely compliment. If you make this please tell me if you like it. It is very sweet yummy!

P.S.
The reason I did not use oats like the original SAD recipe is because I don't have any! Got to make due with what is on hand. :D
