Let me just say this...

Since March I have been around 90% raw. I thought 90% would be good enough. I was struggling with not losing weight, with intense cravings for cooked/junk food, and so on. Well, after coming back from vacation in Peru 10 days ago, I decided I needed to cleanse so I told myself I would do the 30 day challenge. Well.. it's been 10 days going 100% and I feel amazing. I have lost 8 pounds already and am now at the lowest weight I've been in almost 6 years. The food I make is so delicious and I actually eat a lot. I told myself at the beginning that I would take it easy on the fats, but even though I'm eating myself silly with the gourmet foods, I'm still losing weight! Imagine that.

So yeah, if any of you are are thinking about whether or not 100% makes a big difference, it sure does with me!! So try it out, even if it's just for 30 days. Take the challenge!

Wow! It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. It also sounds like you are doing wonderful eating raw! Awesome! I watched some you-tube videos at therawfoodcoach.com and I plan to make some of those recipes. They are really simple so I think I can do them. I hope they can help me stick to eating more raw foods. I would love to be 100% raw!

Great job Mel - I too find that 100% makes a huge difference - I am in my second challenge and looking only forward to maintaining 100% for as far into the future as I can see - no more cooked for me! Keep on trucking!:D

When I joined the monthly challenge in August I was amazed how I felt at 100% all raw ! All raw is the "cleanest" I have ever felt. I eat natural fresh foods from the produce section of the store and I don't eat stuff that comes in boxes, cans, bottles, cartons, etc and I Do eat things that come fresh in peels, skins, shells, etc. After the 30 day challenge was completed I knew I would never go back to eating unnatural foods that had been changed from the way they grow in the earth. Now that's freedom !

For those of you that want to see pics, I'll be posting them up on facebook today.. so add me! (melanie schecker)

Aililiu! How've you been? You should definitely think about joining the airline. We are actually hiring like crazy right now because of all the retirements going on.
As for my family, they always thought I was a little crazy for going against the norm, but they have accepted it, and LOVE trying my food. I have been a huge influence on their eating habits, so it's working out for everyone. Even my boyfriend has accepted it, and is loving the changes in my body if you know what I mean :p .
I'm sure after the 30 days are up I will continue 100%. 30 days is just a challenge I set for myself, but I definitely want to make this my lifestyle.
Have you checked out the new raw restaurant in Victoria yet??

yeah! Mo:Le! Apparently they got a ton more raw food now! I thought they were pretty new? I've never heard of them before.
You have to go to the Salad Loop too!
Yeah I think the whole uncooking works to my advantage. Making raw dishes is like a hobby for me. I love it! Even if I'm not eating it, I love just making it.

As for Peru.. if you haven't been.. GO! It's very difficult to stay raw over there, but Peru is an amazing place to visit.. especially Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca.

Can you tell me what kind of raw foods you are making if you don't mind. I am having a hard time going 100% raw and I really want to reap the full benefits of this healthy life style.

mlwaug,
It's really different for everybody. You really have to find what works for you.
As for me, I don't really have a set menu plan.
For breakfast I have green smoothies most of the time, maybe just a big bowl of cut up fruit or something.
For lunch it's usually a salad or some kind of recipe. Yesterday I made samosas from RFRW... mmmmh. Then I snack on fruit or raw desserts or whatever I feel like, and then for dinner I'll have another raw meal like nori rolls, or salad, or just fruit.
I used to always look for some kind of routine, but you really have to go with what your body wants and eat whatever. As long as its raw :)

I used to always look for some kind of routine, but you really have to go with what your body wants and eat whatever. As long as its raw :)Thats the way I eat too. Instead of me telling my body what I am going to eat I listen to my body and feed it what it wants as long as its raw. I call it "instinctive" or "intuitive" eating.
