Hello Everyone!!!

I am now seven days raw and I am thrilled. I fasted for five days on green smoothies then I made my first raw recipe from Alissa's book Friday night. The "alfredo" sauce is the bomb and I am sold. I have made several recipes and actually stuffed myself Saturday all day because I was so excited about all the recipes.

I haven't weighed myself but my jeans are loose. I will wait 30 days before I weigh. I don't want to be a slave to a number, I just want to be healthier and feel better.

I am 35 years old and I feel like my best years are ahead of me. My 11 year old daughter has agreed to one raw meal a day. Yeah!!!!

Two words I will not miss: CROSS CONTAMINATION. Former meat eaters know what I'm talking about.

Hi Alicia,

When you cook meat it is suggested that you use a seperate cutting board for your veggies and your meat so as not to get conataminated blood from the meat onto your veggies. This is protection against salmonella, e-coli and all those nasty bugs carried by meat. I have found that the best protection is not to cook it at all. I laughed out loud when watching Alissa's DVD and one of the participants said she used gloves when handeling meat.

It is so nice to be able to prepare food and not worry about washing my hands every ten seconds and dripping blood on the counters and having to clean it with bleach before I feel safe.

I love to share the news with other people and loan out Alissa's DVD on a regular bases. Sometimes though, I feel downright SMUG when I see what other people are putting in their mouths. Does anyone else ever feel that way?

My parents are here right now from out of town for the holiday. My mom just took her blood pressure medicine followed by her diabetes medicine. I showed her some excerpts from Alissa's book and she said "I just can't give up fish...." Oh OK, but you can fill your body with government supported poison?

I work in the pharmacy industry and it is a sin how this business runs. I asked my mom if she ever wondered why the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) lumps food and drugs together? She couldn't answer me. She then gave me the evil eye that I remember so fondly from my childhood and I knew that meant to quit while I was still able to run. So I smugly walked away thinking how much better I feel than one week ago and my mom is so poisened mentally and physically she cannot share my joy. Maybe one day.

By the way mock mashed potatoes and gravy, a large salad and chocolate cheese cake will be my Thanksgiving dinner.
