I have stopped tanning which always kept my break outs to a minimum. But now they are terrible. I am high raw juicing lots of fruits and veggies.I am very interested in honey for acne. Since I have stopped tanning my face is a mess. I am high raw and people say I have the raw glow but I am in constant break outs. I am using the same acne face wash I have used for years and it is no longer working. Does honey really work for acne? Please anyone with experience, please help.

I've been doing a lot of research on health and am writing a book. One obvious point I noticed in my research is that all diseases have a cause and the only cure is to eliminate the cause (anything else is a band aid solution that will never cure the problem).
Acne is mostly caused by sugar, dairy and meat. Are you vegan? If so that leaves only the sugar. Do you eat a lot of sweet fruits or grains? Grains are about 80% sugar and should be limited or avoided, and only sprouted grains should be consumed and even those in moderation, unsprouted grains should never be eaten if you want to be healthy.
So if you're vegan, then you probably need to significantly reduce your intake of sweet fruits, grains, potatoes, agave nectar, maple syrup, etc.
The honey wash you mentioned is only a band aid solution (acne is not caused by a deficiency of honey on your face, it's caused by an excess of sugar, dairy and meat in your diet).
I hope this helps (I can defiantely see my acne come and go with my sugar/dairy consumption, I had tried raw dairy once and immediately got acne after 24-48 hours, I've now eliminated dairy from my diet for life, dairy is an extremely toxic and deadly "food").

I second the "sugar, dairy and meat". I find if I go raw vegan and try to include plenty of fat when I eat my sugar (to regulate my blood sugar) my skin clears up marvelously! Don't forget to eat your greens too... for me this helps quite a bit. I find when it comes down to topical care, less is more. I only use aloe wipes on my face once a day, and I find it does a better job for my skin than any wash, if I have a breakout I ONLY wear physician's formula mineral powder (talc-free).

Cucumber juice works great as does oil pulling, IMHO. I've never used honey for my acne but I did use it for my pink eye (it worked for me!). It's the silica in cukes that makes them so great and with oil pulling you can get the toxins out with the oil instead of through your pores. Good luck.
www.oilpulling.com is a good resource to learn more. :D

Hi all thank you for the suggestions. I am eating a lot of fruit because I am doing more of an 80/10/10 diet in order to lose weight. I can not lose weight eating fats and if I combine fats and fruit I get itchy down south. So I find that no nuts and few if any oil is really helping me to lose weight. Also, my fravorite food is fruit. I have tried to go with out it and I feel terrible when I do this. I eat no dairy or meat. I am very high raw and eat only quinoa sprouted and not cooked. The only thing left is the fruit, but I thought fruit was the healthy sugar source and and really nutritiously dense?

I just read 80-10-10 and it makes a lot of sense. If that's what makes you feel good, then go for it. Maybe your body needs a little bit more time to adjust.
I agree with the cucumbers. Drink them, eat them, rub them on your face.
Another suggestion is Maca Powder. It helps regulate hormones. Your body is balancing itself out with the raw foods, but the Maca will help the process along a little quicker!
As for the honey, the reason it's used for face wash is for its anti-bacterial purposes. I used to rub a little on my face every day and wash it off, then used a little bit of coconut oil and my face was amazingly clear.
Hope I helped!

I recommend you wash your face with pure OATMEAL. Yes, Oatmeal!!
I have very mild acne..I dont even call it acne (small Bumps) and I use to use proactive. It worked the beg. but I ALWAYS had an oily face. After xx years it stopped working. I started using oatmeal and Ive been using it ever since. Oatmeals helps acne and dry skin. I will buy oatmeal at the 99cent store and use a dime size with water and scrub face circular motion. Let it sit for 30 seconds till dry. Rinse .Pat Dry and will had an acne fighting lotion. I will use the proactive lotion...THATS IT.
Now i will use oatmeal and after oilive oil or coconut oil and still be acne free.

Thanks so much for the tip about oatmeal, that is something I have never heard before. I will certainly try it. I too have been using proactive and same thing it works great when I am tanning or in the sun, but now it has stopped working. I really appreciate the advice everyone. Cheers!
