Last night I made dinner for the family. I made the lasagna from RFRW and pumpkin cheesecake. DELISH!

Well anyways, whenever my sister eats raw food with too many nuts she has a throwing-up feeling. Does anyone know what this could be from? From too much fat? Or not enough enzymes in her body to process it?

She eats a high SAD diet by the way.. so I'm sure this has something to do with it..

thanks!

Very interesting... I know that dh has a very mild version of this too when he eats a lot of nut based foods. Which I have always thought was strange - cuz he'll sit there and eat a whole can of honey roasted peanuts.... and not suffer too badly.... (amazingly - )...

but if he has a gourmet raw dish made with a nut base of some kind - like alissas enchilada wraps -- or the spicy tacos... he gets a tummy ache and complains about nausea...???

so I will find the responses you get on this thread rather interesting.... cuz I frankly have no idea. At first (I'm embarresed to say... http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/blush-2.gif) I thought he was makin it up!! heheheheee.... guess not tho...

Heh, I'm interested to see the answer to this too. I get nauseous when I eat macadamia nuts, which are the highest in fat...

Yeah.. it doesn't make much sense because yesterday she was eating a ton of salted/roasted pistachios and was fine. And she will eat herself silly with tortillas and melted cheese and salsa (SAD).. Maybe it is slightly in the mind. I dont know. But it definitely can't be because of the fat content.

I wouldn't know as I can't get hold of decent quality coconut oil at the moment :( My debit card application hasn't gone through yet so I can't order anything online. Bummer!

It's that way with most oils though, I can't put oils on my salads except for a teeny bit of hemp oil heavily diluted with lemon juice!

I get quite queasy after nuts, I never ate them in 10years as a vegetarian. I dont eat them often thesedays. Didnt eat them at all until about a month ago!

I found I can have coconut oil, cashews are fine, pecans are fine- but again in tiny amounts. 4 or 5 nuts too many and I am wanting to throw up soo bad... its awful

I find food combining helps me tolerate them, waiting a good hour or two. Helps big time!!

One time I ate a HUGE, and I mean HUGE, amount of nuts and I woke up several times in the middle of the night, feeling like I just might die from the nausea. I don't think it was the amount of food I ate, because I've eaten more than that and just been bloated with no nausea.
