View Full Version : I finally ordered the Vitamix!
If you're reading this, hello to my lovely friend in Nebraska. :)
I hope it comes before Thanksgiving!!! If not, I hope it comes on Friday. I cannot wait to make the broccoli soup warmed in the blender for my mom! (OK, and for me!) And to make the onion dip and similar items so they're nice and smooth! :)
Yay!

Eva,
How exciting for you. Can't wait to hear what you think of it.
I'm waiting until February as that is when the new 5200 will be released in Canada and want to compare that with the price of the Super 5000. Like you both I can't wait to get one.

I see that mostly everyone on this board used the vitamix or talks of wanting one. I've also seen it in most of the raw food recipe videos that I watch so I'm just wondering what makes it the blender of choice. I ask that b/c it's my next major purchase after my Excalibur and I've seen that Blend-tec can blend almost anything (brother sent me a 'will it blend?' link) so am I missing something? Who's better, Vitamix or Blendtec?
Thanks!

RawRoch,
Like you I debated between them both. See my questions in this thread and the responses from baltochef.

I like that the Vitamix has a 7 year warranty compared to Blendtec's 3 year warranty. Also Vitamix has been around longer.
It's matter of preference though as I went to a raw food gathering and the chef used a Blendtec and told me he loved it. There are those who love Vitamix and those who love Blendtec. I've heard they are both good though.
Well,.... the card's been charged. I'm sure I'll love the Vitamix! :)
