Miso

If I were in Whole Food Market where would I find Miso? Is it in a jar or bulk or or or?? What would it be near or by on the shelves?

I don't know about whole foods, but at my hfs it is in the refrigerated section, usually by the yogurt and cold foods.

Miso comes in jars or tubs. In my experience the jars are usually non-refrigerated and the tubs are refrigerated.

I've seen miso quite a bit in health food stores and at Whole Foods as well in bags.

Does anyone know what is a good raw brand though? And where to get it from?

The miso is usually refrigerated in jars/tubs. Ask the sales people where you can get them. There are 2 really good brands that I like ... unfortunately not raw ...
South River Miso and another brand that has a Japansese chef on it.

It takes so good if you throw in nori and some mushrooms! yummy!!
