Dear all,

I have been learning abour raw food and am very interested in it! I wanted to see though if anyone knows if Raw would help with a problem Im having, or rather has anyone experienced the same thing? About 7 months ago (Im now 5 months pregnant) I started getting white particles on my tonsils. My doctor says not to worry about it but I had never had it before and ever since then I have them everyday. Also I have chronic allergies and have been tested like crazy. I was told I dont have any food allergies but I know I do because last night I went to a cooked food tasting and this morning I had the white stuff on my right tonsil but this time when I picked it off I realized that there is a tubular hole starting from the top to the bottom of my tonsil and last night I was very congested more than usual and my ears were clogged up. I guess what Im asking is if anyone has experienced anything like this and if going Raw has helped them. I did Raw for three days last year and my allergies seemingly went completely away but I just thought Id ask what others have experienced. Id appreciate any feedback. Thank you, thank you.

Going raw helped with my allergies. My typical symptoms would be itchy, watery, red irritated eyes; itchy cough upon going to bed (dust mites); sore throat; congestion; occasional sneezing; nasal drainage; tiredness.

Once I started eating 100% raw, according to Alissa's plan, all symptoms were gone. I narrowed the cause of the allergies to dairy products and anything made with dairy products. I have read this in various places and it appears to be true for me. I confirmed this by doing an experiment over the past few weeks. Once eating these products again, my allergy symptoms came back. So, I've come to the conclusion that it was not eating raw, but avoiding dairy, that helped me.

Is that what you're referring to -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillitis
Beware pics are a bit disgusting!

I used to have white particles too. They occurred when I ate starchy kinds of foods (breads, etc.) and sweets (pies, cakes, candy, etc). My throat would hurt and generally feel inflamed. Raw foods helped out with that A LOT.

Getting rid of those things in my diet and eating fresh foods definitely made a difference for me. Now, I no longer have them and feel better overall.

You DO have food allergies. Your tonsils are a dead give away. Not sure why your doctor has not figured this out yet. My daughter (age 14) is allergic to chocolate, sodium nitrates, MSG, pretty much anything processed so she is a vegetarian and eats approximately 70% raw and 30% cooked. Since changing her diet she does not have any more allergies period. She used to get swollen tonsils with the white specks and also fevers of unknown origin and it was food related so I know where you are coming from. It took me about a year to figure it out on my own and process of elimination but she is fine now.

Raw is a good thing to start your baby out on to when the time comes.

I get these!! Noone else knows what I am talking about and the Drs. think I am crazy. When I was first married about 12 yrs ago, I used to get huge holes in my tonsils from them, actually havw since childhood. Since taking out all my intolerances I haven't gotten them very often, maybe once every 6-9 mo. It may have been from dairy, but I am not intolerant to dairy, so don't know.
There is a difference between an interolerance and an allergy. You may not have a classic allergy (immune response), but simply an intolerance (delayed systemic reaction-rash, gut response ect.) to certain foods. There is a test that I had done called the IGG test. It tests you for 96 different foods, all from a simple pin prick to get the small spot of blood. Super easy, even my 5yr old said it didn't hurt.
They then test the response several times from that one sample and can tell you if it's a low, medium or high response. Wheat, gluten, eggs, amongst other things were the highest for me. Since I don't consume these anymore, my life is so much better!
Feel free to email me if you want more details. Hope this helps you some!

I too have intolerances to wheat and dairly. I would say that within a half hour or so of consuming my nose is sooooo stuffy that I can hardly breathe. My kids are the same way, so we stay away from wheat and dairy just to name a few. They docotors said that wasn't it. But, you know your body better than anyone else. When I avoid wheat and dairy all is fine. Raw is the way for me.
