Hi all --

I am embarking on a new journey -- working towards finalizing my plans to attend the raw cert in Jan. Any raw chefs or instructors want to post one paragraph or a SHORT yet DETAILED BLURB as to how the certification has changed them for the better?

I am looking forward to hearing and seeing all the posts, not only for advice and insight, but for inspiration, knowing that all of you nationwide are changing lives each day by the very choices you have decided to make.

Please take a few minutes if you are able to post your certification and "post-certification" experience, including your start-up situation and/or business ventures :)

Blessings,

rawnaija

PS - I especially would love to hear from Rawkinlocs -- you are my rawspiration and hairspiration, lol!!

You can do a search for threads I've started where I talked about the certification after I returned (I went in March).

Let's see, I've taken my kids raw. My oldest no longer has ANY ADHD symptoms since and he had all but one symptom before. My son with autism has been making gains in leaps and bounds. I've started a company to help those who want to go raw and parents who want to affect change in the lives of their children with autism through raw and living foods. I've published an article in Purely Delicious on raw foods and autism/adhd. I've started a blog. I've started a podcast. I'm teaching classes. I'll be holding the first ever Rawtism retreat next year for families affected by autism.

And I've had to do this on a shoestring budget.

Don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for. But hope it helps!:D

Thanks Shine! That was indeed what I was looking for. Any other people willing to share their current raw career endeavors?

I know you are busy with web design, recipes, and curricula, but a rawbie wants to really hear your voice :)

That was such a sweet thing to say, okorolina40, and might I say...I LOVE your hair too (peeped out your Fotki)! :D

Well, I was fortunate enough to have been in THE very first class ever taught by Alissa so much has probably changed in how the classes are done from then 'til now (changed for the better, that is) but for ME...it was definitely a life-changing experience. I mean, I've always wanted to teach (besides my own children here at home...homeschooling) and this gave me the opportunity not only to teach, but to teach something that I love and feel passionate about.

I've done and do classes in my home, I have been asked to come to various facilities (natural food stores, colonic centers, churches, etc.) to do classes or demos and now I'm embarking on the beginnings of making and selling raw treats so...many doors have opened and are continuing to open for me since having taken the training from Alissa.
