I was talking to my sis this morning and telling her that I am IN LOVE with fermented foods. I eat a jar of miso and 3 jars of sauerkraut a week. I also cannot eat nutritional yeast without dire consequences. If I eat even a little bit of it, about an hour later I will eat a 1/4 c with olive oil and salt-plain-not ON anything, just spoonful after spoonful of nutr. yeast. I have no restraint around kraut, miso, or nutritional yeast. My sis says that it must be candida. I thought that this was a GOOD move to get my probiotics in the fermented stuff to combat things like candida. (can you tell I know next to nothing about this subject :o )

So who do you think is correct?

I am no expert in candida, but i know that sauerkrut is ok. Also you can make home made rejuvelac. Google some raw rejuvelac recipe, you may find something or visit dr.Ann Wigmore website.

Prohobitic is definitely a positive thing and also, you need to cut down if not eliminate sugar for a little time. Do not consume more then 10% of fat in your diet. An inbalance of fat will lead to candida and other problem.

Also, have you consider of doing a colon cleanse?

Best wishes.

I am certainly not an expert in Candida either, but I have to say that the fat % is a personal thing. Avoiding certain foods that they love is a must (sugars, molds). But I personally need to have a lot of fat intake to do better. It's the sugar content I need to be careful with.
Not to be contrary, but I just wanted to make sure you listen to your body! The love for a specific food can be either an intolerance or a need for that food. So, your inability to put those foods down, or eat tons of them throughout the week could be the candida making you crave them or your body calling for more of it.
The way I tell the difference is how I feel when I deprive myself from it. Is my body feeling sick without it, or is it an irresistable craving? This could be candida die off, or them asking for more.
Or is it more of a "gotta have it, but I won't die if I don't get it" kindof feeling?
Don't know if that made sense to you, but hopefully it helps some. Experiment and see what happens. Good luck!

good food for thought. The nutr. yeast is a "I've gotta have it or I will DIE" feeling, but the fermented foods are just what my body craves at meal times. They are the most appealing. I also have had an increase in the # of bms/day. It was 1-3 a week, now with all these fermented foods it's 3-4/day. I was hoping this was related to candida die off...oh and I just found a dime-sized patch of ugly scaley skin on the back of my thigh-which I have read could be candida die off too....

Oh HOW I WANT THESE FOODS TO HEAL ME!!!!!
