View Full Version : I bought a fruit called a "plummel"...

What the heck is it? Haha! I cannot find ANYTHING on the internet about it!

It's a little bigger than a grapefruit, is light green and appears to be a citrus fruit!

Plummelo is the word and they are the larges citrus fruit up to 12 inches diameter! they are AWSOME sweeter than grapefruit and tarter than oranges! there yum.

In Asia it's called a Pommello. And, I love them too!! They are just as GHOST27M describes, sweeter than a grapefruit, and similar to an orange. Just yummalicious! The rind is usually super thick though, like a couple inches, so beware, the fruit is actually much smaller than you think.

When I was a kid in Florida I remember running home with one cause I thought it was a giant lemon and I wanted to be in the paper! Think my sister was in the paper that week and I was jealous

I have seen them yellow to greenish yellow
