Okay, so I'm as patient as the next person:rolleyes: ..... really I am. In fact, I should have reached sainthood by now:p
So, for good prices and what I consider reasonably fresh foods, and some design of understanding by the staff of what I'm looking for, I go to the local "Whole Foods". Yes, the very same one I discussed in an earlier post. Good sized market, well layed out. (with helpful employees ... I'll leave out my feelings about the shoppers) BUT, the parking lot is like this den of frustration. I drove around for quite some time today dodging Audi's, Beemers, Mercedes and Volvo's to no avail. I found not ONE parking space. Now it is like this EVERY day!! Street parking is non existant too. Wild Oats used to be on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. I loved that store.... is there anyone here who lives in this area who knows of another local store where I can get my foods from??? With gas prices what they are and my lunch time only being an hour I'm not going to drive around in circles the whole time trying to park to get in and shop!! Surely there has to be another, calmer and more well planned out store with an equally as large or larger parking lot!!
HELP!!

I noticed on the bottom of your post it says...
believe in miracles :D
well, let me explain what i do about 'parking situations'. Sometimes, I have to go into Hilo farmers Market and the parking is horrendous - and what little spaces there is ... will usually be taken up by tourists. It was quite a frustrating situation. When shopping for my weekly supply - to have to walk 4 big huge blocks lugging fruits, veggies and a dozen coconuts on occasion... just not what I consider fun...
okay - now ... this is the absolute truth - this is what I do...
I spoke with Spirit and asked that the 'parking lot faeries' reserve a spot for me very close, in a safe location no matter where I shop. When I'm leaving my house - I always let them know I am coming and thank them in advance for my parking space....
do you know - it has never failed? Since I've been doing that -- there has always been a beautiful parking space for me... and usually the people are just pulling out -- as I'm pulling up. I wait a moment until the other car leaves and I pull right in!....
call me crazy - but it WORKS!!

Well, it worked like a charm. I even had my choice of parking spots:D Went in and bought copius bags of nuts and seeds (looking forward to trying the Golden Flax seed....looks to die for..) and exited. So, I'm walking back to the car and I look at my reciept ..... ..... I didn't buy THAT much!! Run back in and get it corrected!! Charged me $35.00 for something. Then tried to convince me that I indeed did buy whatever it was ....... do you see it in my bag??? The "it" was cashews.... wanna make the Fettucinni Alfredo. Forgot the pine nuts and Macadamia nuts too.... drat!
anyway, got my refund slip and waiting for it to reach my bank. Takes a nanosecond to charge you and an aeon to get your refund back!!
Thanks for positive thinking help... it worked:D

I can so relate to the parking lot nightmare at that Whole Foods, was there today before 8:30 so it was still okay. But I was double charged on dill, is it a conspiracy?
Another option where it is easy to park and the lines aren't as bad is Good Earth Natural Foods in Fairfax, right on Sir Francis Drake.
Raw isn't cheap!

Have you been to Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco yet? They have far better prices on some bulk items than Whole Foods. Drive there in Jan, Mar, July and Sept
They have a 20% discount off your total bill!!! Every Tues-Thurs during those months. Which adds up to quite a nice chunk of savings!
The only catch: You've got to clip the coupons in the back of your AT&T phone book, not sure if it extends to Marin or not, but if you've got buddies in SF ask them if you can have their coupons
I completely believe in the parking fairies! Works everytime and this goes for SF also where everyone likes to complain about there never being any parking. The parking angels always take care of it.
Okay now I must get off this darn laptop...I'm becoming addicted to this forum! AIYA!!!!
