Hi,

I just bought one of these the other day as it was on sale for $40.00 Canadian. So I was looking forward to trying it but I unscrewed the base to wash it and then put it back on and noticed it leaked in one spot.

Just buying one of these until I can get a Vitamix to tide me over as I have a GE 450 Watt blender now I'm not happy with.

Does anyone have one of these and how does it work from a raw food perspective? I read one review somewhere that said it's 700 watts for the first 60 seconds and then it goes down to 450 watts. Is this true?

Thinking of getting an exchange for it and trying another one. Is the base removeable as it came off pretty easily and I tried putting it on really tight but saw dripping from one side.

YES, I have one and really like it. I bought it as a backup to my old Oster and ended up using it for everything. I make multiple green smoothies every day. Now, it is NOT a Vitamix, but for the price it does a dang good job.

I have never had the leaking...BUT...I do finish tightening the base onto the glass jar by placing it on the blender motor base and then twisting until it won't turn anymore.

I have highly recommended this blender (value for price) on this forum before... http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=33689

Hope that helps! Good luck!

walnutty,

Thanks, the store I got it from said I can return it within a year if I have any problems. Mine is not a glass jar but it a plastic container. I'll give it another try but I did screw on the first base pretty tight.

So it is a bottom you can remove then?

YES, the bottom removes and the blades are attached to the seal. The seal with the blades sits inside of the screw on bottom. Mine IS glass, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I really like it. My green smoothies are VERY smooth and I use A LOT of greens...:)

walnutty,

Thanks. I'm going to exchange it tomorrow and see if the second one works.

I have this blender with a plastic jar as well. I haven't had any problems with it. I've had it about a month or so, use it multiple times a day.
