Alloa,
I have been 80-100% raw for just over a week now. 100% when I have time and 80% when am pressed for time. But i havent cooked anything and eating all my veg and fruit in raw form. But am still finding it hard to break my junk food addiction. This should fade with time though.
I was just wondering how long does it take to get what raw foodists call the glow. I know its different for everyone just wanna see really how people have got on :)
Peace

People started commenting on my glow after 2 months of 100% raw.
Green smoothies should help with your junk food addiction. Anytime you get a hankering for junk food, drink a tall glass of green smoothie.

you are right... its different for all of us...
and I think it also depends GREATLY on how raw you are... AND... the percentage of NON-RAW...what is it that you are putting in your body....
if you're eating dairy, cheese, meat or 'junk food' as you say... that could prevent the raw glow (imho) from really being as vibrant as it could be. those foods are clogging... and again... imho -- I would think that they would dim the glow a bit.....
I went 100% in April 2007. People/friends began commenting after about a month and a half that I looked healtier (but didn't use the word 'glowing').
now - dh began commenting after about week two -- he never mentioned my weight loss -- but he did comment about how my skin was looking so much healthier -- and how i was looking so much healthier... he never used the word 'glowing' until about my 4th month... then he told me I was Radiant and my skin just glowed.
my bff mentioned I looked radiant at about 4 months and said I was glowing... maybe it took me longer to glow since I was so polluted to begin with!!!

part of the glow comes from having a cleaned out system. meaning your cells have been cleaned out, rejuvinated and rebuilt using raw, high nutrion and pure clean water. it won't happen if you keep putting toxins in though.
if you find your addicted to junk food, find an awesome tasting raw junk food repacement and allow yourself to go nuts on that stuff. you could make it yourself or order online if not available at your local health store.
if it's sugar your addicted to, try a candida cleanse/colon cleanse. the results are magic.
i used to be addicted to sugar, now i don't even think about it.

Am not addicted to sugar really,
I eat like sandwhich or a packet of crips. I was a snacker and it hard to give up.
Still am eating more fruit and loads of organic veg...
Whats in a green soomthie sounds like a good way to get rid of this veg that am struggling to eat before it goes off

I love, love, LOVE Green smoothies!! In the book, Green for Life Victoria Boutenko goes into great detail about them, but basically it's just fruit and greens. It's supposed to be 60% fruit and 40% greens, but I like it the other way around. I usually use 1-2 bananas, a little agave nectar, with as much spinach, kale, spring mix, romaine, parsley, swiss chard, etc as I can cram into the blender. Add some water and blend away! I also add a few cashews (makes it thicker, though) spirulina, flax seeds, and coconut oil. (Trying to get all my healthy stuff crammed into one drink!)

Mm yeah green smoothies should do the trick! I started off making ones with mango, banana, pineapple juice and spinach - so yum, can't even taste the spinach. Recently I've just been making them with avocado and spinach, even that tastes slightly sweet to me!

Recently I've just been making them with avocado and spinachI didn't have any spinach so I used Romaine lettuce, so it was an Avocado & Romaine GS.
WOW, thats a great GS ! ! !

Green smoothies really bring on the glow and ward off cravings for junk food.

I just tried a cucumber & avocado GS for the first time and its delicious.
I put enough water into the VM to cover the blades and then put in one large Avocado and also a half of a skinned cuke and some ice. Blend until smooth and yumbo :)
