No I don't eat cheese or dairy. I did as of August 2006 i quit because i got sinus infection. I don't believe it ever has got any better since then. My head just seems full alll the time. thanks for any suggestions.

Try boiling a pot of water on the stove and after it has started to boil take it off and put a few drops of a very good peppermint essential oil plus another essential oil that fights infections. Take the pot to your kitchen table and put your face over the pot and drape a bath towel over your head and the pot. Breathe in through both your nose and mouth. But do this very carefully because you don't want to burn your nasal cavity or lungs. This has always relieved my sinus infections, even one I had for over a week (it was my first sinus infection and didn't know what it was at first). Do this two or more times a day for approximately 15-20 minutes or however long you can tolerate it. Hope this helps.

Dairy was my first thought too...but soy is also a big culprit, very mucus forming.

Are you using about a teasp. of sea salt and warm water in the nettie pot? (When I first started, I hadn't been and it is not comfortable).
Drinking plenty of water each day?
Second the suggestion on steam. Used to add some sinus oil (hfs) to the hot water and breathe. Helped me ward off many a migraine.
Hope you feel better soon.

If the Neti pot burns, you're not doing it right. Try 1 cup of really warm water with 1/3 t. salt and a pinch of baking soda in it. Make sure you use plain sea salt with no additives.

i couldn't get the neti pot to work for me either, but had success with the nasal syringe. brand name nasaline. google "nasaline syringe" and you'll find 'em.

About the nettie wash. I found that if it burns it is because there is not Enough salt. At first this idea sounded crazy to me, I thought the more salt the more it would burn but actually it is the opposite effect, not enough salt and it will burn. :)

I haven't a netti pot or a syringe. I must get one. I suffer from sinuses as well. I get very dizzy at times. I substituted an old eye drop bottle and put the salt and warm water in it. I could feel the mucus draining down the back of the throat. I put in colloidal silver with the warm water to kill any bugs that may be lurking. If anyone wants the instructions for making a colloidal silver generator, let me know and I'll post it for you. It is easy and very cheap. I use it every day, especially now the winter is here and also, because we have bird flu here in east anglia in the UK. :(
