What is the process when soaking nuts?
Do you add salt?
What is the usual time frame?
Also, how do you remove the skins off of almonds? Do they easily come off after soaking for a bit?

You do not add anything.
Soak for at least 6 hours.
Discard soak water
Rinse well.
Almond skins take time to remove. I usually do it when there is something that I want to watch on TV. I think that some do not peel at all.

yeah i just use water until they are comfortably covered. But also it depends on the nut for how long.
Almonds are overnight, and I don't bother removing the skins. I think that after an overnight soak they should come off pretty easily if you rub them with a towel though.
Walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflowers I don't think need more than several hours.
Macadamias, Cashews, hemp seeds I wouldn't soak at all.
