I have just received my first jar of raw coconut oil but it is solid:confused: Is this the same stuff every calls oil? When a recipe calls for oil should I warm some coconut 'butter' to make the oil?

Coconut oil = coconut butter
liquid when it's warm, solid when it's cool. ;)

I don't think coconut oil and coconut butter are the same thing, but I could be wrong. The oil melts at a low temp. Chances are in the summer, yours will be liquid. It will melt over hot water.
